Term-X 7,891
He is good in the French league, Which isn't the highest standard. When he had his chance at Euro2008 he bottled it. Didier Drogba was good in the french league besides Benzema's 21 years old, i think we can forgive him for not doing that well in the euros. chelsea_4_eva 1,182
First And Most Important Of All KEEP GUUS HIDDINK!!! then.... the players that think we should sell: hilario, fereirra, carvalho, miniero, belleti, deco, anelka and drogs.... the reason is because they're past their peak (already old).... maybe keep ballack for 1 more year but cut his salary.... maybe malouda because he could convince banzema to come to stamford bridge (both ex-lyon players).... and i'm 50/50 with kalou???.... and bring in: zhirkov, van der vaart, joao moutinho or miguel veloso, quaresma, and BENZEMA.... and give 1st team chances to: rhys taylor(to replace hilario), miroslav stoch(give him a 1st team number not 43 but 14), franco di santo, mancheienne(give him a 1st team number not 42 but 4 ex-makalele number), jack cork, sam hutchingson, sergio tejera and the other reserves players.... Chelsea should play them in pre-season... Edited May 9, 2009 by chelsea_4_eva
warnie_666 1,081
I Just gave a thought to the transfers made by us and compared it the ones made by Manchester united and Liverpool. Look at Liverpool, they have improved vastly ever since we last won the League. They have spent on their transfers, sold players who were old and injury prone. Improved their squad to a great deal. Infact, they are the most widely improved side over the last 3 years compared to Man Utd and Chelsea. Manchester United, have bought alot. Their master stroke was, the signing of Tevez on loan. They spent on Evra, Rafael and Fabio, Carrick, Hargreaves, Anderson and Nani. Then bought Berbatov. The most important thing is they've spent but they spent wisely and went for young talents who have yet to reach their peaks. Look at the result. Now look at our signings ever since we last won the league. We went for Names. Players who HAD reached their peaks and bought Sheva, Ballack, Belleti and Deco all 3 who had touched 30s. We also bought Anelka but he showed his worth this season. We then wasted money on back ups like Boulahrouz, Ben Haim, Sidwell, Pizzaro. (needless waste of money). And how can we forget Malouda. A Player with so much potential failed to live up to the expectations. Not surprizingly, the only player in last 3 years to has lived up to his transfer value is Anelka this season. Had we progressed like Liverpool have with our squad post 05-06, we would have won two titles and a Champions League by now. One of the reasons for poor squad is the constant changing of the Manager. Which has hindered the transition of the squad and not to mention, the progress of the club. I just hope, we get a manager, who settles well with the club and buys potential talents and not just big names. We almost are using the same squad for last 3 seasons. Time to inject some fesh lively blood in the attack. Edited May 10, 2009 by warnie_666
