Panathinaikos 1-4 Chelsea

What happened to foreign opposition fans who used to join the forum every time ?
Last one I remember was a PSG fan in Mourinho days who stayed for a couple of weeks, trying to convince us about the superiority of PSG.
Now they are gone.
I was expecting some Panathinaikos fans for today's.

🗣️ João Félix: "I'm here to fight for a place in the starting 11. Then it depends on the coach to choose who will play.

But I'm doing my job. I'm working and every time I can, I try to up the team."

Enzo Maresca:

"It is better for the team and for the players. Today, if you just play one position; I don't think it's enough. You need to learn to play more positions."

💬Glen Hoddle: "When I look at Chelsea’s forwards, I think Christopher Nkunku would be more clinical than Nicolas Jackson if he had the same time on the pitch and had his chances so far this season."

Watching the replay, there was so much chaos in that back line… just a slightly better team would have beat us.

It is what happens when you put Disaster in the back line. Against this standard of opposition, he still gave away two needless fouls around the box due to being easily dispossessed/bypassed and got easily lost for the goal.

Naah.
This match is not open to critique.
It was like the old time midweek friendlies, Chelsea v. Metropolitan police team.
Panathinaikos are nowhere near their standard of 20-30 years ago - no money.

is he playing  well?

is he playing well because we face relatively weak side or he playing diferent role in this match than our usual setup?

Hmm good question I think the opponent today was not very good!!!

Enzo Maresca  🗣️ “Last season, I watched Chelsea, and I didn’t see any man-to-man pressing. That actually surprised me because, in modern football, it’s kind of necessary. We'll work on that this season."

Pochball🤣

Violent incident in Athens after the Panathinaikos match !
Chelsea supporters led by crazy influencer Astrid Wett attack police.

It appears those Chelsea supporters wanted to get out of the stadium fast to fight with rival Panathinaikos fans (*).
The police try to tell them to wait until it is safe for them to go, they don't listen and try to break the police cordon.
Crazy suppoerter Astrid leads the charge.

(*) the birdie loonies
