Scolari - Dont doubt me

Don't say I'm not big enough

PHIL SCOLARI has come out fighting to defend his honour against accusations he is not a big-time boss.

The feisty Brazilian is bristling at suggestions he has forgotten how to win the matches that matter since arriving at Chelsea last summer.

And he is determined to put the record straight with a victory tomorrow against title rivals Manchester United.

Under Scolari’s leadership, Chelsea have lost at home to Liverpool and Arsenal and drawn with United in the Premier League. They also lost to Roma and drew with Bordeaux in a far from impressive start to their Champions League campaign.

But Scolari insists he is still a winner and snapped: “Look at my record. I didn’t just win the World Cup with Brazil.

“I twice won the Copa Libertadores, three Brazilian cups and many other titles.

“I have coached against the top teams in the world. So to manage against the best is not a problem for me.

“All that matters is to arrive at the end of the season in first place. If we don’t do that, the board will say if I’ve done a good job or not.

“If you said to me ‘You will lose every game to Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, but still win the title, I would sign up for that now’. But we all know there are certain games we need to win.

“Until now, we’ve not beaten Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester United. So this is a good time to win our first.”

Scolari admits he has hardly spoken to billionaire owner Roman Abramovich in recent months, though he was adamant no one should read anything sinister into that.

He added: “I’ve spoken with Roman only three or four times. I don’t know what he is thinking. But I believe he is still committed to Chelsea.”

Having managed just 10 points from the club’s last seven league games, Scolari knows he cannot afford to fall any further behind leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford.

He agreed: “We are in trouble if we lose three points to a direct opponent. In our position, it is impossible to think about a draw. We need to win if we want to finish as champions.

“Manchester United are four points behind us but have two games in hand. If we allow them to advance another three points on us, it will be difficult to recover.”

Scolari is all too aware of the threat of Cristiano Ronaldo, who he helped turn into an international superstar during his five years as Portugal coach.

He said: “If Ronaldo does not get the World Player of the Year award next week there is something wrong.”

Dont doubt so much his ablity as a manger just his insane delayed subbing and tactics/no one on the posts!!!

I'd say give him another season and give him funding to build on etc.Otherwise can just see us every season having a new manager tbh if we dont give them a longer shot...

Because at the end of the day he's the manager, isn't he? He's not going to listen to us, because he's so far up his own backside after winning the World Cup. Because of that he automatically assumes he's doing the right things, but its a different ball game.

Well put, your right he doesnt need to listen to the fans or to any of the critics all he has to do is do what he thinks is right. But clearly atm what he thinks is not right and something has do be done about it. The tactics that he is using are not always working, the only tactic that i really see happening is pushin the wing-backs forward and trying to get the ball into the box but every team seems to shut that down pretty easily because they no its going to happen. The subs are happening way to late into games aswell if a player is not playing well get him off for someone who can change the game, not always take off the players such as Joe cole who is always trying and making the most of his opertunites on the ball.

End of the line for Scolari if you ask me. If we go out of the FA Cup as well...

I shouldn't be contemplating that though should I? What's happened to my beloved Chelsea? I started supporting this team back in the late 1990s. Back then, we weren't setting the world on fire but we were winning trophies here and there. We played brilliant football, thrashing teams here and there, but then there would be the odd crazy defeat to some team in the bottom half. But I loved it. There was passion, there was fire and there was commitment. I loved every second of it. Then came Ranieri, and then came Abramovich, and then we started to believe. Then came Mourinho and our faith was repaid. Fair enough we weren't the best team to watch at times, but we got the job done. We got the job done with minimum fuss and we were feared. We were the best team in the world. And I loved that too. Even under Grant - you could say we didn't perform in some of the 'big' games but the passion and fight was there. Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal. Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United. Chelsea 3-2 Liverpool. Even the Champions League final. We played like champions in those games. And I loved that as well, even though we won nothing.

Enter Scolari. No fight. No passion. No commitment. NO CLUE. At all. Get him the fuck out of my football club. I'm sorry that I have to say this, but its what I think. I don't care if he's won the World Cup. He's the wrong manager at the wrong club. Just get him out of my club so we can rebuild. Please.

I think the problem is,we're a big club, this is Scolari first European club and he's been thrown to far into the deep end.He should've started somewhere smaller and worked his way up!!

We yeh like you say have no passion. We dont seem to care and his subbing arg!!!!

We let go off the best manager we've had and feel sorry for him.Ok it dont so much effect him but he must have been thinking what has happened to what I made.

Steve Clarke left and honeslty think he could've helped but obviously not happy!

Arg its like the old days!!But why?!

Its not like the old days though, is it? Back then we didn't have complete tossers like Didier Drogba, who threw themselves to the floor looking for a free kick, and then refusing to work because they don't get anything from it. Back then we had people who would kiss the badge and mean it. Back then we had passion and fire and a team that would play till the final whistle. All we've got at the minute is a group of over-paid, over-weight, lazy bastards who do fuck all for their team (of course with the exception of one or two who don't see the world in £20 notes.)

Don't doubt you, Scolari? Of course we can doubt your ass if you don't learn from your mistakes at all, you twat. After they scored, he still failed to put men on the posts. What the fuck is wrong with this asshole. Scolari out now, he is a spineless wanker. He always fails to start Anelka and Drogba together, even though every Chelsea fan is screaming for him to do so. He's so blinded by his arrogance, it's costing us.

Tick tock. Hes on his way.

I can mark the spot when the rot set in. It was when Ben Haim etc was foisted upon the team. Mourinho knew he was on his way shortly after that. The interference was plain to see.

Scolari might have won the World Cup with Brazil, but my dead cat could have won the World Cup with that Brazilian team, even Grant could have won the World Cup with that Brazilian team.......
