You realize that if we let the clause expire ADL can then ask for any amount of money he wants right? It is not like we get him for free when this expires, it could be substantially more?

Yes, I cannot see ADL letting Sarri out of his contract without compensation. He can theoretically place him on gardening leave so long as he continues to pay him.

The other issue is that the club should do what possible to keep a good relationship with Napoli throughout this otherwise it is bound to bite us at some point, like if we went into negotiations for one of their players.

Fine margins all round.

I'm not sure how they could be more hard-assed than they already are.

Exactly right, we are kissing the slim possibility of KK and/or Jorginho gone with the way we are going about this.

They could just point blank refuse to enter into any negotiations with us.

For example if us and City both put bids in for Jorginho, they could decide to accept City's and reject ours.

Reportedly Everton were more open to negotiating with United for Lukaku than us after we had gone for Stones a couple of years ago and upset them. It happens and whilst we need to ensure we run the club as well as possible and are not seen as pushovers or a money pit, the balance of good relations needs to be kept too.

Or he could be released from his contract outright. We have no idea what the clause in his buyout is. I’m not convinced Chelsea would be haggling over €8m if Sarri is their guy. Worse I doubt they would enter into a scenario where they give ADL all the leverage over Sarri’s future.

Just be patient fellas, June 1st it will all come out.

That reminds me of last summer when we were waiting for the Nike announcement and everyone thought we had a marquee signing lined up(i was one of those dummies)

You are right that we should be patient, I still think paying the release clause(which has been substantiated by the club & agent) is the easiest way, we are merely trying to haggle cause its what we do now. We should have some closure this week, then we move on to being frustrated by our player targets, not our manager target.

That's the gamble you take and by the looks of things the board are doing that.

I highly, highly, highly doubt this. I think you guys are panicking because you haven’t heard any concrete news from the club.

All these so called “in the knows” on YouTube and twitter have you believing their Click bait garbage. Believe me none of those idiots have any sources close to the club that are dumb enough to leak chelsea news to some kid when negotiating terms of a release.

One clown actually thinks it’s taking time because Abramovich is on vacation and doesn’t want to be bothered while he is.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Panicking? I panic over paying my bills and what life throws at me next, not a football manager signing for my club, mate.

The club's financial year-end is 30 June, not 31 May.

If you actually think chelsea will pay extortionist prices to appease ADL you haven’t been paying attention. I would argue that Chelsea aren’t paying the buy out because they know something in the clause that permits them to bypass it.

I'm just surprised that we aren't really hearing daily updates or behind the scenes chatter at all. Look at Arsenal's saga just in the past few weeks where it seemed like shit was going down everyday. Will it be Arteta or this person or that.

It's just silent in regards to us. Both from Conte's side and the clubs.

I am paying attention thank you very much, just like everybody else merely speculating over what is a number of different factors and considerations in the deal. Your argument is no different. It's your opinion, not fact at this moment in time.

If Chelsea do think there is a loophole and they can exploit it then fine, but I cannot see something like that going smooth when we're talking potentially millions of pounds involved. A legal battle of any sort is the last thing we need this summer.

This Laurent Blanc move is just another fake leak from the club so that Sarri and Napoli, both get back up on their toes. Don't think Chelsea easily leak anything to English media about what's actually happening, because it's mostly been the papers and radios in Italy (especially in Naples), that have been breaking the news of Sarri to Chelsea.

I have no doubt we'll get him. It's just gonna be a deadline day signing as usual imo (that is 31st May).

Just keep Conte for another season.

With all the negativity and cribbing that went on this season, I'd prefer not to. I'd prefer a Happy Conte for sure, but he isn't happy here and totally went into self destruct mode this season. Don't want any of that.
