.Cee 50
Yep Drogba looks like he's out to prove a point now and show all his doubters (me included) that he can still do the job He has more than prove his point IMO. It's just the fickleness of some fans are quite astounding. I mean, first he got booed and slagged harshly despite his contributions in our title winning seasons, then they sung 'Didier Drogba, la la la...' in his 30 goals season then he's being slagged again. And people wonder why he's unhappy with us. He's human and has feelings even tho' he's earning a lot of money.
the wes 7,212
CLAUDIO RANIERI is desperate to avoid a Champions League showdown with former club Chelsea. The Juventus boss ensured his side finished top of Group H last night with a goalless draw against BATE Borisov. But that means Ranieri could now be handed a last 16 clash with the Blues, who had to settle for second place in their group. And the Italian, who bossed for four years until his sacking in 2004, said: "The strongest would have to be Chelsea. "But if we have to face them at some stage we might as well eliminate them at once. "It depends on you how you are at the time. If you are in form and your opponents are not having chances to win, names don't matter." Edited December 11, 2008 by the wes
Laylabelle 9,534
Never booed Drogba dont see the point as that aint gana make him wana improve. The only thing that peed me off last season was this 'I dont care' attitude he seemed to have for some games, guess that was down to Grant being a clueless idoit really but still. And this 'I love Chels' or whatever he came up with when the move didnt happen
Aesthetic Relic 301
Was it painful that DD helps a lot in our back-to-back title winning seasons? Was it painful he scored the goals that won us the FA Cup & The Carling? Yes...for a few days after. My head was killing me. If he hadnt got on like a twat half the time I would have no problem with him. I've said numerous times that when Drogba wants to be he can be the best in the business. And when he doesnt he gets on like a spolit brat. DD....you either love him or hate him.......atm he looks sharp and I love him, but not in a gay way. Aesthetic Relic 301
It's just the fickleness of some fans are quite astounding. Look at the bigger picture. He's been here 5 season more or less and we've had 1 really good season out of him. Is asking for that on a regular basis such a hard thing to ask for? If it wasnt for the fans getting on his case in the first place he wouldnt have bucked his ideas up and went on the scoring spree we go on about so often. I'm not fickle were Drogba is concerned. He's shown what he can do, and when he's not doing it he deserves criticism just like eveyone else. When Drogba is on his game I wouldnt have any other striker in the world leading the line. When he starts falling over and moaning at every opportunity you'd be better off with me up front. With his recent action over the last 6 months he's pissed me off big time. If he gets his finger out and plays like he can then he'll be forgiven.......not forgotten.

When things aren't going our way, some of us acted very spoiled. And at least he's honest with us and doesn't lead us on like (probably) Lamps did in the summer. Anyway, I'm sure it's media going round and round with crap articles. Look at the bigger picture. He's been here 5 season more or less and we've had 1 really good season out of him. Not because of the fans getting on his back IMO. And yes with the support he has, asking for that would be a hard thing. Maybe he has never forgotten the fans who booed him as well. Aesthetic Relic 301
Because you were celebrating the wins he gave us? No....I was celebrating the wins the team gave us. He may have scored the goals to get us there, but he let himself down in the final and in the end it was all for nothing. I'm not blaming him at all for the final defeat, but his actions in that game were hardly worth celebrating. Actually, the same could be said of the fans. When things aren't going our way, some of us acted very spoiled. And at least he's honest with us and doesn't lead us on like (probably) Lamps did in the summer. Anyway, I'm sure it's media going round and round with crap articles. Whats spoilt about wanting a capable striker to get off his arse and play football? He'd have been off in a shot if someone had came in with a bid in the summer. Dont let him fool you. DD looks after one thing.....himself. I know aswell as everyone were a better team with DD in it (when he's on his game). But the world doesnt revolve around him and he needs to realise that. Elliott 7
atm he looks sharp and I love him, but not in a gay way. I hold no hope for the Champs League this year. But we have plenty of time now to sort ourselves out into a team that might challenge.
True_Blue 469
Theres definitely a split with the fans. To me hes a Chelsea legend, and a responsible for a lot of the silverware. I dont care if he dyes his hair pink and throws tissy fits -surely winning the game is the important thing, rather than a load of media driven persecution ? I love Drogba too he did a lot for Chelsea but some talks piss me off,but not enough to dislike him or hate him.

I'm not being fooled. I don't think there's any player that doesn't look after himself these days. Not even JT and/or Lampard. Why do you think they're on mega-contract? So he has a few matches where he doesn't perform. Surely you can't expect a player to always perform and you don't simply forget his contributions. Even Ronaldinho has crap moments. Aesthetic Relic 301
A few matches ? He's had more than a few matches were he's got on like a knob. Thats were my problem with him lies. If he put in half the effort Sheva put in I wouldnt be arsed what he said/done off the pitch. Question: - Why do players like JT, Joe Cole, Essien and Riccy have so many fans claiming them to be their favourites? Answer: - Commitment on the pitch.......Do we get that from Drogba every game ?....no. Only when he feels like putting in a shift. Right now Drogba looks like he wants to put in a shift. I havent a problem with that. He's the best option available, even when he's being a knob. But its the commitment he lacks on a regular basis that gets under my skin. I might come across as a bit two faced on this, but my concern is for Chelsea, not Drogba.

I don't think so. Just look at his record for us: 82 goals and 33 assists in 185 games (146 starts + 39 subs). Yeah, and well then why were there a lot of fans slagging Sheva and booing him because he couldn't score despite his commitment? I dunno about the last bit but I'd never wish our best option gone because my concern is for Chelsea. Well, not unless there's a replacement who's truly proven himself. And the media will always write craps about him.
