We were linked with Coutinho before a lot and now with Isco. If we are after that type of player maybe James Rodriguez would be even better option. His stats are way superior to Isco's. Age should not be a issue with him since he is slow player anyway. He has great creativity. Not sure he wants to play in England tho.

You're going off on ONE report. And getting an AM should be the least of our priorities, if at all.

Reports say Real wanted to bin James to us but we refused and instead want Isco.

We all are forgetting the 800 pound gorilla in the room with Sancho.

Shitty have right of first refusal

AND

they have a built in 20% discount (due to a sell on clause as well)

and Sane is basically 90% going to Bayern https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/sport/fussball/fussball/leroy-san-zum-fc-bayern-er-hat-sich-entschieden-66762634,view=conversionToLogin.bild.html

even if we accept that we will pay £120 (or even £127m which is the full 150m euro asking price)

Shitty will just take the 80 or 90m from the Sane sale (depending what they get for Sane), dump in £6 to £21m cash added  (even if they only got 70m for Sane, they still at max would only pay around 31m extra and it could be only 26m or so if Sancho goes for 120m quid, all for a player with 4 years longer peak playing time or so, as Sancho is over 4 years younger)

and walk away with him

there is nothing he or we can do IF they decide to do that

so I am far from thinking this is a done deal on any of the multiple ends

Bullshit, if Sancho doesn't want to return to City they can't do shit.

EH? They have that right in the contract? First I've heard of it.

First refusal is different than buy back. If he doesn't want to go there he won't.

And how does first refusal exactly work?

Club A offers 5m for player X and club B with first refusal use this clause to stop transfer. Then club A offers 6m and club B can't do anything anymore?

As far as I'm aware right of refusal is they have the right to match any other offers on the table and it would have to be accepted.

But that doesn't mean Sancho can be forced to sign for them. He can choose one of the other options. There is absolutely no way it would be allowed for City to force him to sign for them if he doesn't want to.

All it does is prevent a club and Dortmund keeping from blocking them out of the market for the player.
