If Sarr is better than JJ then why did we go for JJ and then decide to bring Sarr back?

We all know the answer, we didn't want to cough up 60M (approx) and saved money, so what if Sarr comes in and hardly plays? pointless bringing him back, and what if he comes and is shite? Zero guarantee because he has looked good for club and country that he comes in and is next level in the PL

How about instead of loaning every fucker to Strasbourg give them a chance, I mean if we are buying them in the first place and they are good enough, use them.

We don’t actually know yet. The club’s idea may simply have been to temporarily solve a situation and properly address it in the summer. It’s not guaranteed that we’ll even miss Jacquet that much — Colwill plus Sarr already gives us a solid base, and if we sign another centre-back, that’s good defensive depth.

Sarr also isn’t coming in with nothing behind him: he has more senior games under his belt and was a starter in a CAN-winning team, which at least counts for something. None of this guarantees success, but right now the only honest position is to wait and see.

I continue to wonder if Rosenior will deploy 3 CB’s more often with Sarr joining. Sarr central with Trev and Fofana either side of him if we need some extra defensive steel.

Nah.only reason we play back 3 is way we have been already, with a full back moving into midfield and the other staying with CB's,when we are attacking.we don't have the right players at other positions to use a back 3 like Conte and Tuchel.

The word temporary is a word that winds me up, especially in the context of how your using it. Temporary in football and especially in our situation could be a disaster and it always seems to be finding a solution, not for players that are injured but a solution to bog average players playing shit.

I know what Sarr is all about, there is a reason we loaned him out and have now pressed the panic button. But this is a rinse and repeat scenario at the club, loan loan loan loan......quick oh shit our defenders are having a stinker get him back save a few quid. problem like I have said earlier is, Sarr is going to be behind Badshit, Fofana, Chalobah and may just get in ahead of Tosin due to his injury but he ain't starting anytime soon in a league he has hardly kicked a ball in, it's purely for numbers and stifling his development, but as we have seen this club cares very little about development of loan players they are used and treat like chess pieces.

I'm calling it now, Sarr hardly features, we hear murmurings of Josh not happy and we talk more and more about pathetic defensive mistakes

It has been 18 months?

On 22 August 2024, Sarr joined Ligue 1 fellow Strasbourg for a transfer fee of €10M and signed a five-year contract with the team.

On 9 June 2025, Sarr moved to Chelsea on an eight-year contract. However, on 1 August 2025, Chelsea announced that Sarr would be loaned out to Strasbourg on a season-long loan.

Disasi is making the Sterling move and probably wants to terminate his contract and get his money back!

I do not know how much of what he would have been paid he actually got, but I am very certain that Sterling did NOT get a full payout

Not a chance that we would do that, as if we did pay full and still just released him we lose twice:

1.  we get ZERO potential transfer fee (which we DEFFO would have gotten IF we told the buying club we will pay his full remaining salary for them, ie they would have to pay NO salary for him for the first 18 months)

and

2. no further amortisation of the costs, so we would take the full hit now
