Of course defence was the priority but when you analyse last season, we struggled mostly due to Kante and Kova being out vs the wingbacks being unavailable. According to Ajax fans on the internet he has had a stellar last seaso, was shit the season before but now they think he holds their team together. We will likely fail with the bid but it is still a good sign that we have accepted the fact that we need more steel in midfield. With Kante on his last leg we can not keep waiting on Rice only. Apparently I watched him play vs Dortmund last season but do not even remember him, so can not be too special.
