Official site says nothing about Mikel's injury in the international match report, but then again, they are slow with these things, or maybe they are waiting for confirmation of an injury.

In case we lose Mikel, I reckon Carlo will drop Essien back and will hand Bena a start alongside Lampsey. But things could be very interesting if Bruma/JT somehow can't start and Essien has to drop into defence.

It's lucky we're playing West Ham next week, as opposed to Arsenal, or Barcelona in the Champions League! I'm hoping Terry will be fit for Saturday, but if not, I imagine we'll see Bruma alongside Alex at the back.

The Mikel injury is an easy one to deal with; any one of Ramires, Benayoun or Zhirkov can come into the midfield. Personally I hope it's Yuri; we're phenomenal when we have Yuri, Ash, Flo and Nico all playing on the wings.

"His only other selection issue is whether to pick Florent Malouda, a midweek goalscorer for France, or Salomon Kalou the left of the front three."

      ...

I think the site meant to say that Carlo has to decide whether to play Malouda in the midfield or on the wing. If in midfield, than Kalou on the left wing. But I want Zhirkov there!

Jose Bosingwa is also back in training and could be pushing for a start, but Branislav Ivanovic and Gael Kakuta (both back) definitely miss out.

Incorrect about Kakuta but great news about Boss.

Also in the squad will be Gael Kakuta, the Uefa Under 19 European Championship Golden Ball winner, who Ancelotti believes must be considered a part of the first team squad.

'He will be involved tomorrow in the game. Now he is first team, he will have the same opportunity as the other players and he deserves to play because he trained well, he is focused and concentrated,' explained the Italian. 'He will play and we now have to consider him not a young player but a player in the first team.'
