Aesthetic Relic 301
Dialy Mail Skipper Terry tells Chelsea fans to behave as Blues prepare to face Roma Chelsea skipper John Terry has urged the club's fans to be on their best behaviour ahead of the Champions League tie at Roma tomorrow night. A series of security measures have been put in place to ensure that the match is not overshadowed by any clashes between the two sets of supporters. Roma's notorious Ultras have been blamed for inciting outbreaks of violence with Middlesbrough and Manchester United fans in recent years and Chelsea are hoping their game is not marred by similar incidents. The club has an allocation of 3600 tickets and the travelling support have already been advised that sales of alcohol will be restricted in the Italian capital. The local police will be out in force and fans can expect to be searched rigorously on arrival to the stadium. They will also be kept in the ground for an hour after the match has finished. Terry said: 'I want everyone travelling to be careful and sensible. Enjoy the city and the game. Let's all get home safe and with a good result.' In 2006, three Middlesbrough fans were stabbed while in April 2007, 11 Manchester United supporters ended up in hospital due to incidents before their semi-final first leg. Last December, seven United supporters were taken to hospital after the two sides met again in the group stages, although their quarter final in April passed by without incident. The Champions League Final is being staged in Rome this season, but Uefa's president Michel Platini has already warned that it could be taken away from their stadium if there is any more serious violence involving Roma's fans. The Blues will arrive in Rome in buoyant mood after Saturday's 5-0 thrashing of Sunderland at Stamford Bridge. Nicolas Anelka fired a hat-trick and hailed Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari for helping him put the fire back into his game. Anelka said: 'The manager said he wanted to see more fire from me this season. "He has put me on the pitch and it's working. "The more you play, the stronger your game becomes and you can be confident.' I'm hoping everyone who travels over for the game gets home safe. The days were you expected the Chelsea fans to get stuck in while abroad are long gone, I just hope the Police dont get a bit out of hand let alone the Roma fans. BlueLion. 21,491
Have a safe time, everyone. Rome is an absolutely stunning place, and I wish everyone who goes there has a safe and enjoyable trip, but do be careful, the Italian police don't take any shit. Elliott 7
With the restrictions in place for the game in Roma I wouldn't want to go anywhere near it. All fun removed, just turn up to the game so we can take your money and then bugger off. Take a few beatings if you disagree. Rather watch it on the telly. Joe Cool 388
but do be careful, the Italian police don't take any shit. They also don't do anything to their fans but smack the shit out of opposing teams' fans
