PATTA X REEBOK CLUB C 85

Patta has worked with Reebok on a custom Club C 85. Made exclusively for Patta, this classic 80s court silhouette features a full-grain leather upper, with a perforated toe panel and foam tongue for comfort and breathability. The traditional Reebok woven label with the Union Jack was replaced by Patta branding and the Pan-African flag. The Red, Black & Green flag was conceived by Marcus Garvey exactly 100 years ago and stands for Pan- African unity. Part of the proceeds from this shoe will always be donated to The Black Archives from Amsterdam, London’s Sistah Space & The Good Neighborhood Collective in Milan, all local organisations for communities of the African Diaspora, so we can structurally support them in their work.

The Patta x Reebok Club C 85 is planned to be a never-out-of-stock style and a Patta in-store exclusive, available from Patta Amsterdam, Milan and London starting December 5th at 12:00 CET.

What We’re Saying: Finally, after months of leaks and teasers, adidas and Prada have unveiled the next iteration of their collaboration. After Prada reinterpreted the adidas Superstar, it’s now adidas’ turn to bring its expertise to Prada’s world. The result is the futuristic A+P Luna Rossa 21, which has been designed for the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team and is officially inspired by the design of the new AC75 Luna Rossa boat as well as iconic Prada and adidas sneakers from the past.

A more apt description would be that the shoe is a Prada America’s Cup sneaker with materials and technology borrowed from adidas. The sneaker features a Boost midsole, as well as a upper made of recycled materials called “PRIMEGREEN.”

What the Internet Is Saying: Early opinion on the shoes is split, though that’s likely not enough to prevent the sneakers from selling out immediately upon release. Some feel the expected retail price will be too high — though a relatively high retail price is to be expected from a Prada x adidas release. Others, like @tsunamiace, say the shoe is growing on them. If you ask us, this shoe most definitely trumps the Superstars and is more in-line with what one would expect an adidas x Prada shoe to look like.

Official images of Nike‘s J Balvin x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG have arrived. After patiently waiting since its first public appearance on the feet of J Balvin during his Super Bowl LIV half-time performance, the sneakers’ release is just a few days away.

This colourway is livened up by bright red, yellow, green and blue gradients over a set of finely textured uppers. Woven at the top of the shoes are a bold Jumpman logo on the right foot and a Smiley motif on the left. A small section of padded black leather collars peers slightly over the upper canvas panel that comes with round cut-outs. The rest of the shoes’ panels come with jagged edges: around the eyelets, rear quarter, Swoosh and toebox. Finishing touches like a removable patch logo at the lateral rear quarter, black laces, semi-exposed foam at the tongue and a pink midsole round off the details of the sneakers’ vibrant design.

The J Balvin x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG will be available on December 3, 11 a.m. EST on Nike Britain’s website for £165 GBP (approximately $220 USD).

The hallmark of Shoes Like Pottery is the vulcanizing, or ka-ryu, process in Japanese, performed by only a select handful of shoe manufacturers around the world. In the ka-ryu process, each shoe is fired in a kiln which causes the sulfur mixed inside the raw rubber to chemically react, returning the rubber to its natural elasticity and creating a soft, flexible, and durable sole.

Now available in the U.S. for the first time in history, we are eager to share the story of Shoes Like Pottery and the ka-ryu process that has been cultivated over the years.

Shoes Like Pottery sources only the highest quality materials, carefully chosen to maintain the integrity of each pair of shoes.

Sewing the cutting die parts firmly is carried out by skilled craftsman whose handiwork is indispensable.

A skilled craftsman attaches the upper to the outsole according to the shape of the last, and then puts a tape around it. This process is impossible to do by machine, therefore each pair is done by hand. Shoes Like Pottery outsoles are very flexible because they are made of raw rubber that feels like soft clay, supporting the shape of each shoe. Our rubber adhesive cements the outsole to the upper, creating a resilient and lasting shoe. Once fully assembled the shoe is arranged on a rack to get ready for vulcanizing in the kiln.

The shoes are fired in a 120 °C (248 °F) kiln for 70 minutes, similar to the way Japanese pottery is fired. The extreme heat and pressure causes the sulfur mixed inside the raw rubber to chemically react, returning the rubber to its original shape. Our unique ka-ryu process enables us to hand-craft small batches of some of the world’s finest vulcanized shoes.

We use a rubber adhesive to cement the canvas to the outsole. In addition, we use rubber to interline and reinforce the toe and heel areas. Since our rubber is both durable and flexible, the shoe has a long life and holds a beautiful shape.

he foxing elastic tape around the sole is stamped with a rubber seal bearing the brand logo, resembling the traditional sealing wax used by manufacturers in the past. Each logo seal is embossed individually, which means that each pair of Shoes Like Pottery is different and unique.

The soles are created to resemble the pebbled texture of raw rubber. In addition, the soles of the shoe are a vivid shade of blue, giving a flash of color to your steps.
