He puts no blame on Tuchel, only that he expects more from himself and it is frustrating for him. If you have a player that is happy about not playing, you better show him the door. It is who he assigns blame, on himself or the coaches that is healthy. dimmas

He didn't explicitly blame Tuchel but if you read between the lines, it's clear that he's not happy at being made to play in so many different positions, which tallies up with what The Athletic reported. He didn't go all Lukaku on us but hints of unhappiness are clearly there.

He is pretty guarded in what he says. About the most he ever says is he needs to compete for his position. Do you have any quotes of this Lukaku like talk? Because I follow the USMNT, I do read what he says. No player should be happy about not starting, but the right thing to do is keep working. I doubt Havertz is happy about not starting and Pulisic has more goals than Havertz. I fault no player for wanting to start and not being happy to be on the bench, but works hard to earn it. DDA 9,941
The fact is... He shouldn't be speaking out at all and if at all there is a slight possibility of it being acceptable it certainly isn't the time following Lukakus ridiculous interview. Edited January 27, 2022 by DDA OneMoSalah
NikkiCFC 8,324
Ziyech also showed frustration with not celebrating goal. Now waiting for German boys to speak up 😊

I fault no player for wanting to start and not being happy to be on the bench, but works hard to earn it. But he’s talking about not being played in the right position more or less which hardly looks good for TT if another player comes out and makes comments about either the managers system or the position that he’s being utilised in as if its crippling his chance to perform. Thats the point. Not as if he’s talking about not playing full stop. I did read the interview you know even if he does mention its good to be versatile as if that is to soften his initial comments. Ultimately as I said, if he could walk the walk and play at a reasonable level for more than 70 minutes in one match every however often then maybe TT wouldn’t move him around positionally so much. Maybe he wouldn’t only really play if we are short, have injuries or coming from the bench. But he doesn’t so him not having a regular run in a settled position here, as frustrating as it may be for him, is ultimately what it is. Its the same for the other attackers at times too but bar Lukaku and Puli, do you hear them giving interviews saying they’re playing in the wrong position or systems? I think you know the answer to that. It also doesn’t help the fact the US media moronically seem to think he’s the second coming of christ either but you would think he would just say he’s happy to play wherever for the team, like 90% of other footballers would say because it means playing. And at his age, considering the in and out nature of his Chelsea career the last 18 months, maybe he should focus on just playing regularly in whatever position he’s put in instead of giving interviews which, regardless of if the comments were intentional or unintentional to come across that way when theres been murmurings of discontent amongst some attacking players, seem to indicate he’s not happy at where he’s being used. Maybe he should just skip the long journey and go become a designated player in the MLS where he can be played wherever he wants to be played if he’s not happy here? No? 😂 Edited January 28, 2022 by OneMoSalah

I imagine his comments had more to do with being played in those games as a false nine, which he is never going to do well.

He can’t have it both ways.

He was a shell of his former play for the USMNT and pulled at 60 minutes last night. El Salvador shifted their defence to the center and left to stop him, which opened it up for Mckennie and Dest on the right and that is where the attack came from all night. He has to get his game back, but he really doesnt talk shit like Lukaku. He is a pretty humble guy.

ZAPHOD2319 4,818
These are the conditions that Iron Christian Pulisic is playing in tonight. Get the medical staff on alert. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecast a low of minus-13 for the qualifying game between the USMNT and Honduras at St. Paul, with a northwest wind up to 10 mph. The game is expected to be played in extreme weather conditions because FIFA doesn’t have any rules about playing in extreme cold. If the NWS is correct about the freezing temperatures, the game on Wednesday between the United States and Honduras will beat the coldest Major League Soccer game in history. The record was set on 20 February of 2018 between the Colorado Rapids and Toronto FC and it was three degrees with a wind chill of -16 degrees.
