Jase 43,479
Desailly on why Giroud will never be as important for us as he is for France... https://www.goal.com/en/news/giroud-will-never-be-as-important-for-chelsea-as-he-is-for/v0sc4yyb9ovn1f0832e0fpgmg Quote "He is not the future of Chelsea and he can never be the main man," Desailly told  Goal , as part of the  Nissan UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour. "He can only be important at moments for the club because Lampard can be clever to study the opponents and use him in specific games against teams who don’t like facing a player with his strengths. "I believe that Lampard has helped Giroud shine often by getting a lot out of him but he can’t be the first choice for Lampard. He has Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner to compete with, so he can’t maintain his first-choice status from the start until the end. "It is just down to Lampard to use him at the right time, get runners around him to allow him to shine. He is 34 years old now so don’t ask him to be the main man but make sure that he is important when he is needed. With his age, and status as a world champion, then I think this is about how and when you use him." "He is indispensable for the national team," he continued. "Giroud is the perfect team-mate and player for the France national team. He is the first choice in the national team. [Anthony] Martial doesn’t combine as well in the national team as Giroud. "[Kylian] Mbappe can play down the middle but he is the world champion from being out wide. You have to pick Giroud, who is the second top scorer in France’s history, even if at club level he is on and off."

MONEYBALL 20
On 17/12/2020 at 6:37 AM, Jason said: Just going back to this, did a breakdown of the goalscorers and number of different goalscorers based on who starts upfront and it is rather interesting... WHEN ABRAHAM STARTS AS ST Abraham **** Werner **** Havertz *** Jorginho *** CHO ** Giroud ** Chilwell ** Zouma ** Mount * Barkley * Ziyech * Silva * WHEN GIROUD STARTS AS ST Giroud ****** Zouma * Pulisic * Werner * WHEN WERNER STARTS AS ST Werner *** Jorginho * Zouma * James * Havertz * CHO * Ziyech * Pulisic * (* = number of goals scored) Giroud needs to leave during the winter break. Your pertinent analysis demonsttrates that he's not good enough for the famous Chelsea club and this great team composed of so many goods players, who run fast and cost very expansive. He's far miles less good than this incredible young english world class player, Abraham and even can't be compared to Werner and his clinical sense of goal. Giroud, a big little man who can just make you win small titles, Arsenal fans, just as you do, knew it (london intelligence), they knew what if they wanted to win real titles, their board had to spend lot of money to sign very strongs forwards, like Aubame, Lacazette and Pepe, kind of players with pace that every fan likes. Giroud must leave if Chelsea does'nt want to win another shit trophy or get qualified at the fourth place, for Chelsea just like for Arsenal it must be the first place or nothing (london claim). Giroud must leave to not inflict chelsea fans and Lampard the shame of getting, once again, their asses saved by a lampost.
NikkiCFC 8,324
Rumor for new contract for 1 more year. Great news. We wont find anyone better for that role. And we will chase Halland in the summer 2022 so this is only logical. Where would Frank be without Olie? Last season we would finished 6th or 7th without his goals. I imagine Werner fanboys will be against this lol

Jase 43,479
Giroud was awful again but of course, he popped up and scored again. killer1257

There have been so many games this season where he's not done much when not scoring.

Playing as a striker against Atleti is a horrible task to do.

He's not the first player to play against 3 CBs, Atletico or not, and it's not his first experience either.

I understand so much your frustation and i can only sympathize with you to be obliged to bear an old man clumsy and slower than your grandmother instead of watching playing for our team, our young golden boys. Don't give up, you're so right to make observe us Giroud's uselessness and this atrocious statistic just in case some people think he could be Cristiano or Lewandowski.
