Roma lost 2-0 to Atletico. Back in first. Need to beat Atletico on the last day to win group. If not, need Qarabag win/draw at Roma.

Still cant figure out if it better to finish on Top and potentially face Bayern, Juventus, Real Madrid, Seville or Basle

or Finish second and potentially Face PSG, Barcelona or Besitkas.....

WTF we will beat anyone on our day

yeah some really tough fixtures incoming in the knock out stages with all the english teams qualifying.

But does a draw with atletico not suffice to get top spot? We have a way better goaldiff than them or is this still this mini table direct encounter bullshit?

Job done, good performance with some favourable(understatement) decisions for us. Roma loosing so good night all round.

My only slight annoyance is Sterling not getting minutes. I get the subs Conte made but why pull him from the Uefa Youth league competitive game if you know he's only making up numbers on the bench. Being 2/3/4 up vs 10 men of a weak side and still no show, i would rather have gone with 6 subs and let him play in the youth

There's nothing to figure out, the aim should always be to be top in everything, doesn't matter the consequences - real top teams shouldn't be afraid of anyone. Furthermore the ball is round, we can hope for Besiktas for example, but they can just as easily dismantle us because football is unpredictable.

First tiebreaker in the group is H2H record, which Roma boast against us. So, a draw will not be enough to win the group unless Roma fail to beat Qarabag.

We will probably end up with psg again

I don't think it really matters who we get tbh. The way Roma and City dismantled us leaves so many questions and doubts. Barca, Real, PSG, Bayern and later on City would all offer very tough hurdles over 2 games. One off game final we could beat them all but 2 legs against the lot I've mentioned is probably just out of reach atm. Need the draw to be kind whatever pot we're in.

The performances in this group have been weird to say the least. Atletico battered Roma in Rome and unlucky to have come away with only a point. We outclassed Atletico in Madrid but then got battered by Roma over two games. And Atletico convincingly saw off Roma in Madrid. What next?

True, looking at the tournament as a whole, there's not really any stand-out side, unlike previous years of late when you'd say there was 1, 2, maybe 3 teams, who were head & shoulders above the rest.
