NEMANJA MATIC VS Β TIEMOUE BAKAYOKO

2016-17 Nemanja Matic Tiemou Bakayoko
Games Played 35 32
Minutes Played 2697 2219
Win % 77% 75%
Goals 1 2
Assists 7 1
Fouls Conceded 33 51
Fouls Won 25 53
Tackles 51 70
Blocks 9 3
Interceptions 50 56
Clearances 46 53
Duels Won 143 242
Duel Success 51.8 59.2
Passes 1865 1369
Passes Successful 1636 1193
Passing Accuracy 87.7 87.1
Yellow Cards 4 2
Red Cards 0 1

This just proves the feeling of Matic disappering during games. Bakayoko has 100 more duels won with 400 less minutes, thats alot when Matics total is 143 during an entire season. There is a reason Monaco have been so succsessful with their high pressing game and Fabinho + Bakayoko has a big part to play in that.

Yes, please do clarify exactly on who's available and affordable. Is casemiro up for sale?Β Talk is cheap.Β Hell, i just use cheat to hack in game money and buy nainggo, baka, verrati to my heart's desireΒ but we can't do it in reali life, can we?

Being realistic, Tolisso was available for the same fee as Bakayoko. We showed interest earlier in him than Bayern. They came calling and are now on the verge of signing him. Actions no fuss making it look easy. and don't tell me it's because they're a bigger club. We didn't show the same determination to try and sign him because we had another player in mind. That's the reason.

Chelsea targetting players with physical presence over technical quality and productivity has a lot to do with where we are today in comparison to the big european clubs. Just look at Tottenham. They look unplayable in the league but so clueless in the champions league. I get that in order to compete domestically, we need muscles and height because of the requirements of the english game, but it's possible to find a good balance between the two. Right now it's looking like it's only one or the other.

A lot of moaning as usual before the player even kicks a ball. He'll be shit (according to the oracles on here) presumably like costa was going to be after the world cup, like alonso last season because he played for Sunderland Etc! Wish we could go and spunk 100 odd million on a global social network superstar like pogba! That would put us in the big time...

Give me a break pal! Many are moaning BECAUSE we have seen him kick many a ball and know how poor said ball kicking is! And who, out of all us moaners, are asking for Β£100m options? How much would Tolisso cost?

But we did offer 35m for him before Β bayern came and they are the 3rd best team in the world, please be realistic here. He quickly agreed to bayern and that's that, what can we do? Table aΒ 50m offer and 300k a week contract? DidΒ it change nicklas sule's mind at all?

so you are saying your choice are superior to conte's choice, as a resultΒ it's unreasonable for us to go after bakayoko? O...kay..?

Off the top of my mind Fabinho, Naby Keita, Seri, Bonaventura, Amadou Diawara, Milinkovic-Savic, Paredes, StrootmanΒ all would make better partners for Kante than Baka. Didn't even name Nainggo or Verratti who I know are impossible to getΒ :)

Why? Why? Who? Who? And who?Β

I don't know, conteΒ fliedΒ to monaco to watch him personally so it's not like emmenono force him on usΒ :D

we should respect our manager here the last time we disregarded them for big name signing like torres, sheva. It endedΒ badly.

I really hope that I get to eat humble pie on this transfer come next May, However, I've seen Baka play multiple times and I'm gutted that he is the only option we have seriously pursued. He's a decentΒ player with good potential, it'll be interesting to see how he develops under Conte. Β Β

Ok. Implying we did try harder and lost to a better club. We've been linked to Bakayoko since January. We've been linked to Tolisso for like what, a week? and that was only after we reportedly grew tired of the negotiations with Bakayoko.

Regardless of the choice, there's clearly a pattern here. Our transfer record speak for itself. Wether it for the best or the worst remains to be seen, but nothing to be optimistic about so far.

Is the mood always so gloomy around these parts? We're actually making moves and early. Imagine this place, if we had lost the race for both Lukaku and Bakayoko.Β

Β

And then there are people blaming the Board, not sure if it's ArsenalFanTV's Forum or something..

Based on what? How in the world are you better positioned to identify those as better partners for Kante? I mean this is ridiculous, you cant just throw names around like that without going into detail about howΒ they would make better partners. Is the fact that they can pass better automatically make them a better fit? Paredes has not proven much yet, Savic is not a great passer, Keita might not be available while Seri and Bonaventura haveΒ similar weaknesses to Fabregas.

A lot of people like to say that Fabinho is twice the player that Baka is. If that is the case, why do you think that Conte is so determined to get Baka? Do you think that he is actively looking to buy underwhelming players? Do you think that is the reason we have been rumored to get Baka for half a year or more? We are about to throw a huge amount of money on Lukaku, so clearly the money is there, and yet it is Baka that we want.Β
Could it be that Conte has a vision for how he wants Chelsea to play, and that Baka is the best choice for that vision? Have some faith in our couch.Β

Bit of a change in topic that. Weren't you annoyed at users because we're unhappy Bakayoko is coming? So, what, I should just say 'wait a minute! my opinion opposses the chelsea board's! They must be right and me wrong!'. I'm sure gad i changed my mind with Torres, Baba Rahman, Falcoa and the rest and agreed with the board. I may have had many criticisms of those former players for not being good enough/the right fit for our team but the board's choice sure turned out to be correct :cig:

Im realy happy with this signing, he was brilliant for Monaco.

I did warm up for Tolisso tho, he is more techical, but Bakayoko is still powerful midfielder with good runs, Β spurs and others wont bully our midfield anymore.

I have only seen him play when he was being used as a Holding Midfielder, especially against Dortmund.

Β

How does he play when he plays beside Fabinho, who's more of a central defensive mid?Β

Β

I wanted Tolisso more to be honest, more attacking and can score goals. But not too sad about missing him out if we're getting Bakayoko instead.Β
