The new kit contract will be valid from 1 july so around that time. Granted, it's only a theory now but willy deal not announcing any time soon may somewhat confirm it.

It's a brand new relationship so it would be natural for both parties to do everything they can to get it off to a good start. A new signing or two can only help to boost shirt sales figures. Perhaps Chelsea even have hopes of cracking the numbers required to trigger bonus payments from Nike, while they know there is no possibility of a bonus from Adidas at this late stage. If so, makes sense to delay the 'advert' of the new signings, until the new product is actually available.

Good signing, he can sit on bench whole season and when picked, puts in good performance. 

On the other hand, he is 35 and not hg, meaning we will go through this process again soon.

If we want quality back up's we will have to go through that process regularly.
