Stamford 3
I will certainly be tuned in for that. I'm sure we are all looking forward to positive vibes from Scolari. Anyway he better be good, Iv'e named one of my new fish after him.

chrismada9 1,948
Should be in to watch that, apparently he's very limited with his English, so there might be a translator on hand.
BlueLion. 21,491
Will be interesting to hear his first views about the club and the squad.
EskWeston 696
Yes i can't wait to hear this interview and conference today. It will be great to finally hear from the man what he has planned for the club and any possibly some insight into potential transfer dealings. Fulham Broadway 17,335
They'll repeat it BB any way. The Gene Hackman lookalike cant speak English so it wont be ground breaking, though will be better than Grants -where he pretended he couldnt speak English. Scolari can speak pretty good English aparently. Not sure how much will be done through a translator though. First interview before the press conference is on CTV at 12:00pm today. Fulham Broadway 17,335
Really ? All the media say he cant speak English. We shall see. Theres an interview with him on Chelsea TV at 12:00 btw
EskWeston 696
Really ? All the media say he cant speak English. We shall see. He can speak English quite well, and has always been able to. Obviously not fluent, and we are yet to find out just how well he can speak it. But he was talking with everyone yesterday in English fine and held his meeting with the players all in English.... DavidEU 2,023
Really ? All the media say he cant speak English. We shall see. Theres an interview with him on Chelsea TV at 12:00 btw David Davies of the FA was saying a few weeks back that he speaks alot better English than people think. It obviously won't be great, but Davies spoke to him about the England job, so he should know. Ranieri couldn't speak a word and Mourinho was relatively average too when he first came, so i'm sure he'll be OK.
Fulham Broadway 17,335
Well I know he met JT and his mates in a West End restaurant after the CL. He was hardly fluent, but he spoke eloquently enough to leave an impression on him, allegedly. Too many foreigners are ruining the game though..... DavidEU 2,023
SSN are saying that they expect BPS to speak entirely in English, but will have an interpreter alongside him just incase.
BlueLion. 21,491
Scolari has no problem understanding English, it is just more difficult for him to respond, apparently. This is likely to be the case, as it is the same with all foreign languages as you learn them.
Fulham Broadway 17,335
Hate to put the dampers on things, but this will not be the start of continuity of a Chelsea/Scolari era. He's admitted he wants to retire in 4 or 5 years time max, and one of the main reasons for taking the job was the cash -let's just hope he can win the league and give purple nose a hard time.... EskWeston 696
Well if he is only here for 4 or 5 years then lets hope he can build something special for the next person to carry on with. Personally i am quite excited by this new era under Scolari, a few more new signings in the right places and the right types of player and it could well be one hell of a season for us. Now we just want to hear from the man himself to finally comment on all things Chelsea and hear what he has to say.
