Jype 6,398
I am not saying he will score 30+ but if he does, goign for Falcao wouldnt make sense.Rooney scored 27 in the league last season and still they bought Van Persie, because that's what a big club does. If Torres can't handle the competition with another top striker, he doesn't belong to a big club. Not saying we should go for Falcao before first improving other priorities (midfield mostly) but using Torres as an excuse for not doing that doesn't make any sense imo and we really should be looking to do what's best for the team and not what's best for Torres. Pacquiao 1,834
Falcao scored in 2 minutes against Uruguay! Cavani has done nothing in the game so far. 1-0 HT.
Leif 6,006
Cavani is the type of player to go down a legend for the club he plays for.Falcao is the type of player to go down a legend for the club he plays for, the country he plays for, and football as a whole.(From what I've seen of them over the past few seasons, anyway.) Rooney generally plays as a second striker for Man Utd and England but can also play as a no. 9Torres and Falcao will give rise to the same situation as we faced with Drogba and Sheva and Drogba and Torres. Leif 6,006
It's sad that Falcao is already amongst my top 10 favourite strikers of all time, especially considering he's never played for us.I just love every single goal that he scores (the ones vs. us aside.)Oh well. You can't always live in the past like Loserpool.

I'm sure their initial plan was to play Rooney up front on his own and Kagawa behind him but when Van Rapist became available, they bought him too as a sign of intent. Basically that means one out of Rooney, Van Persie and Kagawa will always be on the bench but that doesn't seem to be a problem for any of them, whereas we are worried that if we bring even one quality player to compete with Torres, he will once again break in pieces and be shit again. No matter how good he does when he's on form (which btw he hasn't been so far during his time at Chelsea, although things are looking likely to improve at this rate), we simply can't trust a player who can't handle the slightest of competition. What happens when his form drops or he gets a lengthy injury? We would be in the exact same situation where Scumpool were when they trusted Torres too much and that ended up costing them titles when they had to play shit players like David N'Gog every time Torres wasn't available. Not saying Sturridge is shit or anything but by the looks of things he's gone by next season if he feels he isn't trusted enough at Chelsea, and honestly I can't blame him. Who do you suggest we get to replace Danny if he goes? A quality player like Falcao for the good of the team, or a shit player like N'Gog just to keep Torres happy? Cristiano is like Falcao. He always dreamed of playing for Real & he will never leave. The Bernabéu adores you, friend. Cristiano forever.Falcao has a dream, but the White Tiger should know that Higuain and Benzema are our nine untouchable. You should dispute the positionMessage to Manolete: when you know what is a moment of glory (ie, win the Champions) talk face to face. nhaiduy 1
We've already spent so much on transfers this season so I think as much as any of us would like to see Torres + Falcao, it's not gonna be possible...

In his 9 seasons Rooney scored more than 20 goals in only 4 seasons. So I dont see where you bring that argument that Rooney has been scoring 20+ goals for "many seasons". Lampard has scored 20+ goals on a much consistent basis but that doesnt mean he is a striker.Rooney always had a striker upfront with him in RVN, Berbatov (although Shit), Tevez. Not counting Ronaldo as he isnt exactly no.9. And now they have RVP. Last year he had to play upfront on his own and they didnt have a clinical no.9 to support him like in previous years and that cost them the title. Hence they went in for RVP. And they were in for RVP right from the start.2. I agree you need competition upfront for Torres but that doesnt mean we break the bank and bring in 50m Falcao to sit on the bench waiting for Torres to fail and that also doesnt mean we bring in a shit like N'Gog. Sturridge is a damn good player and has proved it time and again playing for Bolton and Great Britain. And dont compare Scumpool to Chelsea. Scumpool only had Torres as the goal scorer while Chelsea have Always had scorers all over the pitch. And obviously IF Danny goes then we may think of bringing Falcao. But for now I dont see the need to bring in Falcao with Torres and Studge upfront.

Henrique 9,133
I dont know why we are discussing this, because you have to remember the transfer window closed few days ago, and I'm sure Falcao wont leave Atletico in january.Lets stop the madness. Kojo 4,676
why everyoene wants to buy a 35mill+ CF when clearly cm is our weakest position is beyond me??It's stupid, people just want us to go out and spend 30 odd million for a player in every position. I've been really wanting that Loic Remy, he's very cheap and a good striker with pace, just needs to be a bit better with his finishing, he can also play on the right wing. Just things like that, central midfield is what we need to invest heavily on!.And with financial fair play a most certain to be installed in, it wouldn't be wise at all for us to just go squandering 30 million on strikers, when we've already spent like 50 million on Torres who might still have a good season, and Daniel Sturridge who is full of flair and wants to prove people wrong.
