If he was a beast he'd have scored close to 10 or 15 goals already for Monaco. If you can't score a lot of goals in probably the second or third best team in France (with such a creative player like James Rodriguez in your team) where the league lets be honest isn't very competitive who would spend 52 million on you? Nobody.

He has 9 goals in 13 appearances - that's a pretty good record,

Still we should have gone for Cavani in the summer since he is a superior footballer

He has 9 goals in 13 games dude, what are you talking about?

Monaco are in a big squad formatiom period, they just started buying good players (having off-loaded 12 of them) and they were in the Ligue 2 last season. Even if they have bough great players like Joao Moutinho and Jaimes Rodriguez, they arent half of the team Atletico Madrid is, which counts a lot for Falcao's lack of goals.

And even then, he is the third top scorer in Ligue 1!

Actually he's the joint-top scorer together with Cavani, both have 9 league goals so far. Zlatan and some other dude behind them with 8 each.

Oh, for some reason I thought Ibra and Cavani were the joint-top scorer and Falcao was right behind! Thanks...

But it only adds to my argument: Falcao is in a much worse team and still has great numbers! (excellent really)

No, he is not worth Torres + £52 million, but who is?

While it's unquestionable that Falcao has a great goalscoring record, I doubt though that his style of play suits what Mourinho wants from his strikers. And that is being all rounder type of striker or at least close to it, especially for the kind of squad we have where the goals do not just come from the strikers.

Forget this overpriced 29 years old, should go for Suarez/Diego Costa/Cavani(if he is some how unhappy with his role at PSG)

He's 27 firstly and we're willing to pay £52m. Only 2million more than what we paid an off form Fernando Torres. If that puts things into perspective for you

You seriously can't use that as a reason to justify that buying Falcao at £52m is okay.

Didnt say it was. I was just putting it into perspective for the fella above (who made it seem like £52m was absurd for a player like Falcao). He's for me, the best striker in the world (according to last seasons performances when he actually looked like he gave a shit). It wouldnt be out of this world for us to dish out 52million for him

He's not even the best striker in France. Ibrahimovic and Cavani both have far more to their game than Falcao.

It would be out of this world to dish out £52m for Falcao IMO. He's worth far less than that - and as I've said plenty of times before in this thread, he isn't the right striker for us to begin with.

If you read my post properly i said he's the best striker in the world .... Last season ! I said this because this season he looks unsettled and disinterested if you ask me. That's my opinion.

What's also my opinion as that £52m is not too much for him because:

1. He was signed from Atletico for £50m. I don't think they would be selling for less than that amount. Its not like his value just drops automically

2. He's at the very beginning of his contract at Monaco

3. Monaco are not a team who is in need of big bucks... they're in probably the best financial position out of all the teams in Europe

You are basically on reiterating The Skipper's point earlier about using those reasons to justify Falcao's price tag. It's not exactly very justifiable. Regardless of what it is, 52m is still A LOT for a player, especially when you're not Ronaldo or Messi. That money, if and when used wisely, can be spent to get arguably 2 quality players and moreover, if we are already so reluctant to dish out 60m+ for Cavani previously - if reports are to be believed - then it's unlikely to see us spend 50m+ on Falcao, even if the amount is less.
