do you have any striker u had in mind that have good link up and can still score goals??

Rooney would suit us very good, and I think Lewandowski.

I think we should bid for Rooney (again). United are now mid table club, and I don't think it would be tough to convince him to come here. And he would be 1st striker here, with no competition.

He can turn into a non scorer just as Torres, Ba, Eto'o ... Just as strikers before them did. And then you have a non linking up scorer that doesnt score. So not convinced , I fear.

Also: we don't need link up? In our system? Fast, direct and counterattacking? We need it more than ever, I believe.

He needs big games to perform? While I find that a sign of poor mentality, if it is true: what will he do on a rainy night at Stoke?

I just don't know. I do NOT claim he is not a very prolific striker, but is he the right striker for us? Especially given FFP and a probable hefty price tag and the fact we have almost no midfield at this very moment. There are a lot of if's here and would he have done better in the eyes of the Monaco fans, I would be reassured, but they simply aren't happy with his performances there.

Not really tbh. Lewa and Rooney but that is a no go apparantly. We will probably/maybe reinfirce midfield and wait it out till summer for a striker.

In year 2012, Falcao scored 29 league goals.

In 2013, he scored only 20 goals and he played in 'easier' french league for second half of the year.

Costa scored 27 league goals in 2013 for comparison.

It only shows that he basicaly lost main atribute; scoring goals. He still scores, but less than a year before. If anything we should get him in 2012, when he was a real beast.

On another note, I would probably still sign him now, but certainly not for more than 40m.

But there are soo many comparisons to Torres.

Fact 1: Both would be signed in january

Fact 2: Both would cost over 50m£

Fact 3: Both have scored 9 league goals for their previous team, before joining us.

Fact 4: Both came here in decent form, but certainly far from their best.

Fact 5: Both played for Atletico in their career

Fact 6: Both had long hair

Fact 7: Both will be close to age 27 when joining us.

They also think he is quite shit/average on that Monaco forum.... I don't think I want him as our striker.

"Tu prends le Falcao de Monaco en oubliant le passé, c'est loin d'être un crack. Vitesse banale, accélération très moyenne, élimination très faible, détente inexistante, remise maladroite, puissance de frappe très moyenne. A côté de ça, il est précis face au but (bon il y a des loupés mais qui n'en fait pas?), son ratio de but est bon malgré ses faibles occasions."

Translate freely: he is very, very average and far from being a crack. His goal ratio might still be ok but there are the weak performances.

Also: they say repeatedly on that forum he can score a goal sometimes but adds nothing in link-up or general play (no acceleration, average speed, no tracking back, ....). He is precise when placed in front of the goal.

I still believe this would be Torres 2.0. Also money-wise. No go for me.

Been saying this since day one.

Don't think he'd flop quite as hard as Torres has, but can't see him being a world beater like an RvP, Agüero, or Suarez.

Glad we didn't spunk £50-60 on him. We should be spending a max of £30-40m on a striker.

You guys do realize Monaco is JRod+ moutinho + Falcao and champ lvl players right??

Lets see how well Hazard + oscar + Willian would do with the rest of the team being champ lvl players...

In addition, their one game off of first place...

Correction +abidal.

Falcao is the same player he was at Atletico and Colombia...

However, hes team isnt that good besides those mentioned above.. They just got promoted to top level and Falcao knows he doesnt have to try much to get a champs league spot for Monaco....

If Chelsea had 3 star players and the rest champ level players, the three star players wouldnt look so hot as well... Especially in the CF role, where CFs are dependent on the team, unless you do longball tactics..

I was against Chelsea signing Falcao, but he isnt as bad as you guys are making him seem...

Mourinho should of went all out and purchase Cavani and Capoue/Moutinho.

Ow ok! Thanks :-)

Ps: He is not bad at all but I just doubt he will fit in. A Chelsea striker needs to have a LOT to succeed, history shows.

Ps2: I lol'ed at Championship level Monaco tbh. Moutinho, J. Rodriguez, Carvalho, Abidal, Kondogbia. Com'on. Be seriuos. I would really be happy to see Monaco try on the Championship level teams. You might just be underestimating Monaco just a tad.

Radamel Falcao has been trimmed from 6/1 to 4/1 to be a Chelsea player by the end of the Transfer Window, with the Monaco forward reportedly unhappy at the Ligue 1 club.(Sky Sports)

Odds really mean nothing. I wish people would stop using it as an indicator that something is more likely.

Harry Redknapp was once odds on to become our manager.
