Radamel Falcao

Ever since the Falcao rumors started surfacing, I was quite sure they were all media driven BS, I thought our board after Shevchenko and Torres would never throw cash again in Jan, guess I was/ am wrong. I was naive enough to not understand that FFP is a mythical entity and was never to going to materialize.

So now we are sure almost to get falcao, there are several qns I want to ask board (I know they wont see this but anyway )

1. Is falcao really worth 50m? (tradeoff b/w goal scoring record and age)

2. Is'nt Atletico's style of play better suited to him, can it be matched with Chelsea?(was focal point of attack, personally think goal tally is slightly exaggerating his abilities)

2. Will it not be wiser to spend 50m on a CM and sT instead of falcao?

3. Will falcao succeed in England?

4. As a Jan signing would he not require time to adapt?

5. Would we buy him if he had'nt scored the hatrick against us?(torres)

The last qn

If are to buy him now why the hell din't we buy him in the summer for pretty much same price. Would have had preseason and could have helped us challenge for the title.

If we are buying because we thought torres, sturridge would be sufficient but torres turned to shit, then why did we sell sturridge instead of torres.

6. My last qn if falcao is a replacement for sturridge why dint the swap happen in summer?

I would love to have a new striker in Jan, but its unlikely Napoli will accept an offer midway through the season. I doubt Athletico will either... considering their position in the Liga BBVA table.

If we meet the buyout it won't matter what the clubs think.

It's not that simple. A lot of players have release clauses but still haven't moved, because a club can't just go around meeting clauses when the player has no desire to move.

If we meet his clause, then the convo is between Falcao + Chelsea, Atletico don't have a say...

I would assume anybody putting in a release fee clause IS interested in moving otherwise why have it?

There are various reasons for having a release clause, from trying to discourage other teams from pursuing the player, to offering the player a way out if things do not work out.

Like Ba had at West ham i think.

For BA it was definitely a bigger club, he signed from West Ham and I don't think he expected Newcastle to have such a great season, but with the arrival of Cisse, he still hasn't dropped that clause...

Yeah agree sometimes players have ridiculous high release clauses, but some have semi-reasonable ones and that's what I'd classify Falcaos at, semi-reasonable :) if offered, think he would move ;)

Nothing can be done about the clause till a new contract is signed, with a new contract the fee could go up or be removed.

As for Falcao, i think he already said he would like to stay at Altetico till the end of the season, so if he was approached - he would tell the buying club the same and they will have no choice but to wait.

Yup I know but NUFC were trying to offer BA a new contract and he isn't accepting, so he wants the clause in there.

I wouldn't expect Falcao to say anything different, but how many times have football fans heard those old chestnuts only to find the player leaves anyway :)

Haha that is true, we just have to wait and see really.

Anyone else heard that ateleti will make a move for portos rodriguez? Ain't they skint? wonder how they could finance that?

Well they will probably sell Turan for 20mio at least and Falcao for 50. The money will be there to buy James for 30 and sell him for 50 later to barca or Rm...

that's the point I'm making, if its true then the signs look good for us and falcao.

Have you seen it? i dont know the source or if its realy a new interview:

ChelsTransferGossip@ChelsTransfer

Falcao: “This season for me is very important. I have a lot of aims with Atletico and I can’t allow myself to be distracted by rumours" #CFC

"In some moment of my life that time will come. Now, I’m just thinking about Atletico" #CFC

read that article in the times , guess they picked it up from there.

Falcao is too important to Atletico this season. why would Atletico sell now even if someone meets the release clause when they can easily get his release clause matched in summer. he is too valuable to their league position and them achieving Champions League spot next season which will bring them tons of revenue...they achieve CL spot then sell in summer, why would they derail the campaign. anyways falcao looks committed by the quotes till atleast summer

Hi mate, once the release clause is activated Atletico cannot decide anything - it's purely down to the player then :)

Pshh 50 million? Who gives a fook?? FFP is a joke

We can continue spending all we want. We bought Hazard for 35 oscar for 25 Mata for 24 Torres for 50 Lukaku for 18 Luiz for 21...

All just in the past 2 years, thats what? 173 million not to mention a bunch of other 10 million or so signings, while we have only sold Mierles alex and carvahllo for a combined fee of a whopping 20 million. Good to see we are making some back at least

Falcao? Llorente? Moutinho? They;ll all come once we pay up those transfer fees and offer them 180k p/w

As long as Roman keeps dishing it out of his own pocket what does it matter if we spend that much, not going to effect the club itself. We reap in the benefits while "well run" financial clubs without a billonare backer contine languising beneath us

Ahhh life is good B)

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that on beIN Sport, there is a commercial w/ Falcao speaking English about his love for Football. One last thing, if Falcao does come to CFC will he be the first ex-player from River Plate to join the club? I don't recall anyone from River ever playing for the Blues.

Hernán Crespo played for River Plate.
