LDN Blue 7,903
- As regards Torres himself, the time has come for him to step up or fuck off. 18 months have lapsed since the move and while his form has improved, it's not saying much considering the past. Nice guy and all and I obviously wish him to fire on all cylinders, but diregarding emotion in favour of logic, it's show time as far as he's concerned. But the question is, do we take a punt on that by not approaching a striker like Falcao this summer? Because if he doesn't step up, we're fucked again till Jan.

I believe we can get the best out of him with a system like the current 4231 with added quality on the flanks (maybe with Hulk). I'd give him those 6 months till Jan, half a season where he can truly operate as our main man without living in the Drog's shadow.
Superblue 6,372
I think torres needs to be the main man to get the best out of him. However we need very reliable back up to him. Has anyone noticed he hasn't been injured whilst at us - that may change if there was suddenly an over-reliance on him.

Completely second it.Spending 30M odd on Falcao, I would rather spend it on a quality midfielder right now because i believe if we have a good midfield Torres would be very dangerous. He doesnt have to track back like he keeps doing now rather be in and around the box to finish it. If we are not going to invest in our midfield and get in clinical strikers, it would be the same old Torres story.

I think between the three of them there's just enough goals to get us through to January in a position to still be competing for trophies. If needed, we could buy Falcao then. DDA 9,938
Get him. As much as i like Torres and want him to become prolific again, I don't think we can rely on him for next season. We want to win the Prem or at the very least cement a CL spot next season so we are going to need an in form striker who's flying high! Gianfranco_Z 202
Anyone considered the possibility that we swap Torres for Falcao and then Falcao has the same problems as Torres? A very real possibility, coming from a different league.
KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
We won't get Falcao. The only way we would get him is if Torres left and that is (rightly) not going to Happen. If Drogba leaves (he should)Torres will be the main man. The team would finally be built around him, and than we can see what he does. Thinking of another Letico forward, Adrian.

Letico will still be in the Champions League and will not lose their main striker and star in mid-season, there will be no replacement. Would give teams a lot more incentive to win the damn thing.

Those rumours have been invented for the papers," he told Colombian radio station Caracol."We have not received any concrete offers for Falcao."Now is the time for the rumours but if a bid arrives then it is normal to study any proposition."Falcao has four years left on his Atletico contract and we are calm."http://www1.skysport..._medium=twitter
