They have England's best medics & will have him fit when Costa's not. Matt Scott @Matt5cott 19h19 hours agoFalcao's record at @ManUtd was not representative. He rushed himself back after a serious injury, hoping to play in a World Cup. #CFC #MUFC Matt Scott @Matt5cott 19h19 hours agoChelsea will give him proper rehab. It's oft forgotten how he also suffered an ACL injury at River Plate. He didn't do bad after. #CFC #MUFC
Tomo 21,751
I don't like this argument because Remy and Costa was not tried thoroughly enough at all. How many minutes did they actually have playing together? Not sure but in the all be it limited minutes they did they didn't look convincing.I think Remy will have a part to play if he stays, if he is performing better than Falcao he will be ahead of him, people underestimate just how team orientated Jose is, the reason Remy didn't play as much as he could/should have last season was he kept getting injured at the same time as Diego and Drogba surprised us October-November time and played really well and was deservedly #2 in that moment. Unionjack 7,531
Just read that Falcaos getting the number 9 jersey and we havent been that lucky in the premier league with that number.Cascarino,Stein,Vialli,Sutton,Hasselbaink,Kezman,Crespo,Boulahrouz,Sidwell,Di Santo,Torres.Ive included the good ones too but you get my drift eh. Fernando 6,585
The only reason I like this, is that it's a loan. So we don't spend too much money over many years to make it work. It can work and it can't work. For every example you have that it work there's example of people like Sheva, Torres, and Kaka. Mourinho ain't no magician and he can't make everyone perform the best. He will try but if it doesn't work oh well. It was just a loan.

How many minutes did they actually have playing together?we won't play them together as we play in a 4-2-3-1 formation with a lone striker up top. even if we buy falcao it would be as a substitute.in europe it isn't too wise to play 2 up top and then leave the defence and midfield to be blown up (as an example look to city's defeat to barcelona ). Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
Remy had the best minutes per goal ratio in the entire league last season with a goal every 99 minutes followed by Aguero with a every 100 minutes. Falcao had a goal every...wait for it...325 minutes. And that's without counting his FA cup and League Cup appearances where he failed to score anything. Mate, you're clutching at straws here..And what of the servicing? Remy getting the two best chance creators vs. Falcao with some of the worst. All I'm saying is trying to compare the season of Falcao to that of Remy's is poor. Its an old cliche that strikers need servicing to score and Remy got loads of good servicing whereas Falcao got next to none. Do I think its a definite that he will come here and be Falcao of even 3yrs ago? Hell no, but as a striking option off the bench for a year what is the risk? Low if you ask me. Many here were very critical of Eto'o when he arrived and that was quickly put to bed too.

Remy should've been our clear number 2 choice from the get go but instead Mourinho gave Didier a lot more minutes. Mourinho has his favourites/preferences even if the better thing to do is to play another player.

Muzchap 8,966
I did say Ive included the good ones bruv. I loved Jimmy Floyd.Me too him and Eidur had a great partnership I also loved Vialli he was awesome, shame he came at the end of his career. That just makes me realise how far we have come - we could always attract players in the twilight of their career, but now we're getting young ambitious players - great turnaround in 15 odd years
Unionjack 7,531
I wish we could also attract top of the shelf players too. It does make me shake my head sometimes when I see players going elsewhere. Drogba was called on as a defensive forward late in games and made a contribution, he was also the only target man we had at the club and it was no secret Jose likes playing direct.Does Jose have favourites? I think a more accurate statement is he has people he trusts to do a job and Remy spent a season with us earning that trust. No different to Willian before him actually.
