He had a valid contract with Atletico. I think he could have stay if he really wanted to and now he's acting as the poor colombian victim. No doubt that he is a world class striker but I don't understand him.

petre.ispirescu 4,928
i saw earlier today that France's top court approved a proposal for companies to pay 75 percent tax on annual salaries exceeding one million euros in line with President Francois Hollande's drive to limit executive pay at a time of economic hardship.not the final decision though, but some say this decision was the last piece of the puzzle before making things happen. this will be a huge, huge blow as teams in ligue 1 won't be capable of paying big money anymore. i think now it's the perfect time to make a move on falcao. we're not stupid, even though french media and as monaco are trying to play us for fools telling he's injured - he's unsettled there, he's not happy, he hasn't played a lot in the last few games even though his injury was not a big deal. heard glenn hoddle (ex as monaco!) saying today he's not happy there and he's trying to find a way out. hope jose will sort this out, i'd love having this beast leading our attack. Steagles 70
Pretty sure Monaco's not subject to the new super tax law.My understanding is that currently, they are not, but the France football governing body is going to try to force Monaco to move their headquarters into France, and thus now be subject to the super tax law. kellzfresh 7,229
If monaco is not involved it would be an unfair advantage. The 19 other clubs will be fighting against them to move their headquarters into france. They will lose the battle sooner or later. A cheeky bid for falcao during all this chaos ?? Stingray 9,441
Why? According to the Monaco forum, old slight injury contracted when he was in Madrid until the end of December... The fans on this forum are scared that he played his last game before going to... chelsea. May be same kind of (fake) injury that Sturridge "suffered" before going to Liverpool. That says that he is not really injured but feeled some pain. I know nothing reliable at all, but worth a read if you understand some french http://asmforum.fr/topic/38069-radamel-falcao/page-158 They also think he is quite shit/average on that Monaco forum.... I don't think I want him as our striker. "Tu prends le Falcao de Monaco en oubliant le passé, c'est loin d'être un crack. Vitesse banale, accélération très moyenne, élimination très faible, détente inexistante, remise maladroite, puissance de frappe très moyenne. A côté de ça, il est précis face au but (bon il y a des loupés mais qui n'en fait pas?), son ratio de but est bon malgré ses faibles occasions." Translate freely: he is very, very average and far from being a crack. His goal ratio might still be ok but there are the weak performances. Also: they say repeatedly on that forum he can score a goal sometimes but adds nothing in link-up or general play (no acceleration, average speed, no tracking back, ....). He is precise when placed in front of the goal. I still believe this would be Torres 2.0. Also money-wise. No go for me.

Unlike Torres. At the moment, we don't need link-up play from our striker(s). We need goals. Goals in all types of games. The stat that a Chelsea striker didn't score away from home in the league in 2013 just shows you how completely dire we are in that position. This stat did not come about because of shit link-up play. Also, I reckon the only reason Falcao plays lacklustre at Monaco is cuz they are a smaller team. Smaller than River Plate, FC Porto, and Atletico Madrid. Falcao is a big game player. I think he's used to coming to a stadium packed with 50,000 fans every other week and putting on a show for his energetic and passionate fans. But at Monaco, he plays his football at a stadium with no atmosphere, fans are worse than the ones at Old Trafford.I think he needs the big stage. The big games every other week. That's what he'll get here. Most of all, he needs to play in the Champions League. All of which he can get here at Chelsea
Stingray 9,441
He can turn into a non scorer just as Torres, Ba, Eto'o ... Just as strikers before them did. And then you have a non linking up scorer that doesnt score. So not convinced , I fear. Also: we don't need link up? In our system? Fast, direct and counterattacking? We need it more than ever, I believe. He needs big games to perform? While I find that a sign of poor mentality, if it is true: what will he do on a rainy night at Stoke? I just don't know. I do NOT claim he is not a very prolific striker, but is he the right striker for us? Especially given FFP and a probable hefty price tag and the fact we have almost no midfield at this very moment. There are a lot of if's here and would he have done better in the eyes of the Monaco fans, I would be reassured, but they simply aren't happy with his performances there.
