oldportblue 547
"On the wane", a forward who scored 28 goals in 40 appearances for Milan in his last season, who played in a Champions League final the season before that. Compare him at 29/30 years old to Falcao at 29 years old. Mourinho is a great tactician but he is no magician. If Falcao is past it he is past it, there is nothing Mourinho can do. I can't help but feel that this is just stubbornness on Mourinho's part (a Premier League flop signing for the Premier League champions, something is clearly wrong here). Besides, aren't you contradicting yourself here? Going by that logic if Sheva was good enough for Jose then it should have turned out well, same with Claudio Pizarro, Salomon Kalou etc. Were these players good enough for you? Also, some people here are expecting Falcao to score 15+ goals this season? Seriously. Are you all hoping Diego Costa will break both legs or what. A has-been and a massive Premier League flop scoring 15+ goals while being our 3rd choice striker. Mmmkay.most of the flops you mentioned were not jose signings, it was widely reported sheva was roman... kalou was a great back-up striker imo, he could come off the bench and score (even if watching him would drive us insane at times) so i don't count that as a flop... as to pizarro, it was jose but if i remeber correctly we didnt have cash to soend that summer and bought shite like him, sidwell, ben taim etc... dont think he would have signed pizarro if we had cash for better players...and ironically, your story about sheva just goes to show that you never know, just like a striker who scored 28g in 40 games for milan (didnt remember he did quite so well in his last year there but i take your word for it) can be a flop for us, by the same token a striker who was plagued with injuries last year and dealt with a new coach, team (team in disarray btw) and league can be amazing for us...anyways my point is jose knows better than all of us and there is a reason why we topped the prem and that jose is the special one. i've learned with mata and David luiz (two of my favorite players in the past few years) that sometimes even when something jose does looks/feels wrong, it can and probably will turn out great in the end

ulvhedin 526
I don't need to read a lot of posts to understand this deal comes with its flaws. Not my fault I'm cautious about the club I support.. as Special Juan said.. it's my own opinion on the matter at hand. You wrote you wonder whether you are alone thinking this deal is not so good - so no, there are many doubters here
1chelsea 864
Sincerely he will be working with Jose, sometimes when you work with best and learn you become the best. I have high hopes for both
didierforever 7,349
i am absolutely loving this deal.with the way people are cribbing, you would think we had got peter crouch on loan. low expectations, not much invested, very low risk move.i think falcao's gonna surprise the shit out of a lot of people. BlueLion. 21,491
@AlexIf he scores 15 goals coming season, I will set a donkey as my avatar. What if he scores 20, will you set an ass as it instead?
BlueLion. 21,491
He'll just make a promise he won't keep (remember the dance?) [emoji23] I said I'd dance. I never said I'd record it.
Mart 29
Everyone in Colombia will hate Chelsea after they start to follow us (due to Falcao& Cuadrado both being here) and find we never play them.
lionsden 4,689
If we end up losing such a valuable and reliable striker in Remy as a result, it will be impossible to justify this signing. It is illogical and totally needless. I don't know the need for signing a washed up striker to be third choice when you have two solid strikers in Traore and Bertrand to fill the role. Who spends £10m minus wages on a third choice anyway.
didierforever 7,349
Lol he won't. And he is more of a Peter Crouch. And that's kinda an insult to Crouch because at least Crouch is very lethal in the air in the opposition box.Look at Copa America. He's finished, like Torres. I'll eat my hat if Falcao becomes lethal again.hahahhahahhahahahhahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
didierforever 7,349
What a spammy post. [emoji23]Well they both got to stop playing shit first.well, what a classy post comparing falcao to crouch.. :clown:
Thor 2,711
4 goals and 4 assists in 14 starts for the season... In a dysfunctional team changing its line up every single game and no synergy... coming back from injury. Why are we pretending Falcao doesn't know how to play football anymore? As someone who watched some United, it isn't due to injuries he played poorly, but mainly looking lost out there and not knowing where to be. Completely understandable in a team where Rooney was being played as a defensive mid at points in the season. He will be fine on a team like ours where his role will be more defined. His creativity and shooting ability is still there.
TheOneChan95 225
If we are only getting him to purely replace Drogs then it's fine. It would actually be an upgrade despite the higher wages. The problem here is if such a talented backup who can play better than Costa at times is going to leave as a result. All the excuses I'm hearing for this transfer is basically the same hope with Torres. We've heard it all before haven't we? It's the expectation that kills you. Honestly if we were to gamble, I'd rather try a young and hungry striker like Solanke if he isn't going to be loaned out. But let's be honest, there aren't many players willing to be the 3rd striker here at Chelsea are there? No way young guys like Lacazette or Destro would want to sit at the bench. So despite all the negatives, I think we're resigned to the fate and trust in our coaching staff to bring out the best in him. No matter how much some of us are against it, if he turns out good we'll happily eat that humble pie. So let's just support him while he wears our colours shall we? didierforever 7,349
Crouch = 8 goalsFalcao = 4 goalsNow who's the clown? Falcao is finished, get over it. Falcao isn't awesome like he used to be. Torres 2.0 bound. You are talking as if he is going to suddenly change with a click of fingers back on old form.Mourinho is a tactician, not a magician.2013-14crouch - 9goals (2290 minutes)falcao - 11goals (1495minutes)2012-13crouch - 8 goalsfalcao - 34 goals2011-12crouch - 14 goalsfalcao - 36 goals.want be to go further down?so one season right after a massive injury, and into a new and physical league while playing in a 3-5-2 or someother asenine system is the norm for MANA the great to judge TIGRE,what a weird thought. jose is not a magician and yet HE is the one who wanted falcao at chelsea despite having all the money and a lot of options open (benteke, lacazette etc). hmmm... well, i would take jose the tacticians' opinion over yours. :clown:
