mikeholiday 209
I don't think shirt sales work that way tbh. If someone buys a Falcao shirt then they probably wouldn't buy a Hazard shirt for example. And the Chelsea fans in Colombia already bought jersey#23... And I'm really doubting this move. Wasn't he named in the Copa America squad? If so, wouldn't that mean he has effectively no preseason with us?It does make a little difference. We will gain some "Falcao fans" and some Colombian fans. They will probably buy his shirt as "new buyers".

I'm not too sure about exact numbers and I believe someone else is much more capable of crunching the maths. If we truly wanted just a commercial signing then someone like Salah or an Asian player like Ki/Muto would be much more beneficial since those markets have very few players at top clubs and and we can get large attention focused on just 1 player. Not to mention they would cost far less.
didierforever 7,349
the guy is quality. one poor year at united does not prove otherwise. anyways, for the right amount, a massive pay cut, i definitely would not mind getting him.
Soofi 32
Don't mind having him if:-Wages are under 200k-Transfer fee no more than 25m.Anything above that is a waste.

All of this reminds me of a rumoured news that Torres marketing sales has been brought back the money we spent on him, lol.Anyway, obviously I never meant to say that this Falcao signing is marketing signing. Just want to pointed out how big his marketing value nowadays as a 'bonus' of this signing.

the wes 7,212
Gianluca Vialli believes that Jose Mourinho would be able to get the best out of Radamel Falcao at Chelseahttp://www.thesportreview.com/tsr/2015/06/mourinho-could-get-the-best-out-of-falcao-says-chelsea-legend/i agree with vialli on this one about falcao and i think its worth a gamble if we can get him on a loan deal and he takes a payout aswell
RoyalBlues 4,050
Very good if it's a loan with option to buy, with paycut. It supposed to be like that.
Stingray 9,441
i agree with vialli on this one about falcao and i think its worth a gamble if we can get him on a loan deal and he takes a payout aswellI think Mou is really good at getting the best out of mature players with his tough love approach. Suppose he revives the Falcao beast mode .... [emoji77]Doesnt really work that well on youngsters though.
Duppy Conqueror 1,537
The old Falcao I would love. it`s a gamble...takes a while to get over the injury he had and if he does it`s normal for it to take this long but some players are never the same again.even a loan deal is a gamble as it blocks others from getting a chance for a season. ChelseaFanUK 1,014
If it's a loan, then you take the risk. Be mad not to.
supporter 3,088
It would be fun to see Radamel Falcao with us and with Jose regaining the level he had with Atletico de Madrid or Porto. Especially to see the face of many people in Manchester....I think Jose can motivate Falcao and make him a top player again. His big problem was LVG and the style of play of United. With us, with close games, he can again be the great player before his injury. In addition, Falcao made a bad knee recovery to try to reach the World Cup in 2014 with Colombia. Finally he could not reach the World Cup with and because he tried to recover in four months from injury of seven months of recovery, his body has been this season like shit. But with Jose motivating him and our medical staff helping him to have a good preseason to have a good physical condition, Falcao can back to being the pre-injury TOP PLAYER.Regards. Blue Colored Sky 1,807
Lol, Telegraph AGAIN confusing pounds with euros. The loan fee will be about 5m€ which I'm okay with.I was sure that we buy either Dybala or Icardi but today is the day where both signed new deals. It seems that we lost on our targets and try to make up this with Falcao. Actually I'm excited.
