He better go to the World Cup. Leaves Baines at home and take his successor Shaw instead.

LOL. Get out.

And people wonder why Ash still has that victim complex.

If you think Cole is better then Baines at the minute your gone bonkers.

Shaw is a better left back then Cole at the minute, not taking anything at all away from Ashley, actually want him to start tonight. But his day as the best left back in the world is over.

Only stat geeks rate Baines highly.

Funniest thing is non-Chelsea fans actually want Cole to go the WC ahead of Baines. Not even going to bother responding to some of these posts.

Ashley Cole is one of the best left backs ever I'd rather go to war with him than a player who's only rated highly because he's good at taking set pieces. Next you guys will be telling me Rafinha is World Class.

You clearly don't watch Everton enough, Baines has been one of the best LB's in the PL for the past two seasons...

So every non-Chelsea fan wants Cole to go to the world cup? fucking hell mate, you've lost it.

Ashley Cole was* one of the best Left backs, not anymore. Yes, Baines is only rated highly because of his set pieces... haha if that was the case Ian Harte would be one of the best LBs ever. You're embarrassing yourself mate.

Apart from Hazard's own part of the mistake for Atletico's first goal, Cole was pretty poor on his part too. Not sure why he had to go towards the ball and left his area vacated from Juanfran to get into. Had Azpi started at LB to begin with, don't think that goal would have happened.

Besides Azpi was pretty much doing nothing at that right flank until that cross late on. Azpi at LB would've been the more sensible option. But it was too late by the time he switched.

Maybe it's because Mourinho didn't have many options due to injuries/suspensions but was kinda surprised he went down the AVB/RDM/Benitez route of starting a FB out on the flank.

Why did cole dummy the ball? I know he could have scored an own goal but he should at least attemp to clear it, rather than just let it run through for their player to score. It was more his fault than hazards in my opinion

The manager awaits news on the one-year contracts offered to Frank Lampard, Terry and Cole. "I did my part on that," he said. "My part was to analyse the squad, analyse the players and advise the club in relation to what I think of the players. That's my job."
