Now that I've seen Costa in person I'm convinced he's the real deal.

I watched him closely in the warm up and during the keep ball session - which was quite intense - he seemed to give the ball away with every touch and I was thinking I've seen Torres do that way too many times. But then the game started and the first 25-30 minutes blew me away, he literally did everything right and it wasn't by chance; movement, passes, awareness and goals! Actual goals from a striker. I can get used to that.

Then Torres came on and I started thinking about going home.

Very happy with him so far. I wasn't thrilled by the prospect of signing him, but I'll gladly admit that it seems I wrong. So far, he's exceeding my expectations.

The real test is now PL. Costa's goals in preseason mean as much as all those that he scored for Atletico last year.

Its great to see him get together with team, he certainly impressed in preseason, but now he will have to get the job done in PL too.

His movement for the first goal was simple but a move that we have lacked for a while now. Took the first brilliantly as the keeper was close to him when he finished so a great take and just hope he really kicks on from this.

I try not to get excited about strikers we sign. Been burned way too many times before (Sutton hitting the post in his first match in front of the Shed is still fresh in the mind) but boy is this guy making it hard.

Could we actually have a proper top class striker?

Our team's success has come through skill, but also fight. At our best we could finesse teams off the pitch or smash them. He seems to embody that (along with Matic and the defence).

The stage is set for this guy to become an absolute legend.....dare to dream??
