A lot closer. Am I remembering correctly though that the original source for the €1m loan/€13m transfer figures was Fiorentina themselves? If so that would maybe make it more likely that the numbers are correct.
CHOULO19 24,332
Thanks Choulo,What is concerning me is the implication in the recent comments coming out of Fiorentina. Those comments make it sound like Fiorentina's options are watertight and that they can exercise them unilaterally. It sounds like they feel the extension of the loan is at their discretion, subject only to Moh's agreement, not Chelsea's.Obviously I hope that we've negotiated some flexibility into the deal. For example, €1m never sounded like a good loan fee for next season but, based on Moh's start in Serie A, it now represents a considerable amount less than his market value. I don't mind if Moh stays at Fiorentina next season but, if he does, I'd like it to be at the right price.Ideally I'd like us to be able to make Moh available for loan or sale across the whole market to achieve the best move for him, and the best compensation for ourselves. Fiorentina seem to think we've signed away that right. My understanding (from all I've read and most importantly from a very famous Lebanese beIN journalist in Italy who talks to Salah all the time and has disclosed the terms of the deal as Mo has told him) is that is exactly the case. If Fiorentina and Salah both agree the loan and then the transfer at the end of next season, there is very little our board can do.
CHOULO19 24,332
Conflicting reports. I read they can sign him for £9.5m plus addons.Check what Hussien Yassine wrote about the deal.£18m certainly sounds a lot closer to market value than €13m. A lot closer. Am I remembering correctly though that the original source for the €1m loan/€13m transfer figures was Fiorentina themselves? If so that would maybe make it more likely that the numbers are correct.IRRC, it's 1.5m for the loan and then 18m for buying. All in Euros. pHaRaOn 2,131
Although the final fee for Salah had been quoted as £9.5m, Chelsea insiders insist that is nowhere near the figure they are on course to get from Fiorentina.Chelsea claim they will actually end up receiving around £18m in total for Salah, who they signed for £11m from Basel in January last year. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11521878/Chelsea-expect-18-million-from-Fiorentina-for-Mohamed-Salah-if-he-signs-on-permanent-transfer.html The Skipper

No idea if they can exercise their right to buy without our consent, though. We could keep him if we really wanted to. We could give them another loanee/free transfer of on of our loanees too them in order to sweeten them up, but I can't see it being worth the hassle. Salah isn't THAT good, not the way we want him to play anyway. Unless we recognise him as a striker rather than a winger. supporter

Unless we recognise him as a striker rather than a winger.Thank you very much to both!I think Salah is still young (22 years) and perhaps We may ask ourselves that he was a future option for us.But I think that a new loan would be the best option for him. I even think that Fiorentina would not be the best option for him, I prefer to give Salah on loan to another Premier League team to check his Real performance in our league.I am personally surprised by his performance with Fiorentina, but I doubt whether their performance in Premier League would be the same. So a loan to another Premier League team would give us the opportunity to check if we should or should not bet on Salah.Although the more likely / logic would be that Fiorentina asked to extend the loan another year ...Regards. Rom2013 446
RIght now since KdB was humilliated and Salah it's not that good.... I think we should start moaning about Quaresma. Yes he is old, maybe not that far in quality when compared with the other 2 (today), but at least he can do great things in a decent competition. Why the hell is Quaresma out of Chelsea? Sheva.

Rom2013 446
What? Quaresma was here on loan because he failed in a super team like Inter, was a great player (a lot better than Salah ever was), in Besiktas and Porto was a superstar, still is at the age of 31 a really good player for Porto and did a great game against Bayern. He also failed at CHelsea like KdB and Salah, They have a lot in common. We can moan about Quaresma too, or not? I will do a list of players like this and taht way we can pick. Peace.
