Ramires has to concentrate today but Mourinho's given him a license to run with Mikel holding the central-midfield line.On that note, I'm glad to see Mikel in there

Sorry mate, I see he's your favourite player. But that guy has talent in abundance but has failed to impress me this season never mind the last game. Ivanovic, in matches, has been subpar and isn't as sharp as previous seasons. He can train "better" all he wants, but match performance should outweigh training in these cases.

it's Jose. I'm sure there's something more than match performance, and that probably is fitness. But there's more than one reason to bench them. Torres played well agreed, he checks the box, does he train well? Probably not, so that is checked. Does Azpilicueta train well, maybe not again. The Ivanovic part comes down to comparison. In comparison to other players in the RB position, it's better to risk playing a well trained player than a player who hasn't, despite the bad match performance.

Regarding Azpilicueta he didn't get a start outside of the Carling Cup until November last season and turned out to be one of our best players.

He must be aware to Ivanovic's struggles in our last few games. He hasn't even benched Ivanovic to make a case against him (as opposed to giving Azpilicueta a chance)..

The most important reason why he's heavily favoured has to be his height (defending crosses and for set-pieces, slotting in as a extra CB).

What annoys me the most is our almost non-existent offensive contribution from the fullbacks. That's so crucial, just take a look at the best teams out there currently.
