The body of Sean Cole, 26, was found on Monday in the area where he was last seen.Police say he ignored signs to stay out of the water at a popular camping ground at Mary River, 65 miles (100km) from Darwin, the territory's capital. The river has one of the highest crocodile populations in the area. Onlookers watched in horror as the victim was suddenly attacked. The victim and another man had gone swimming across the river, and were swimming back when the crocodile attacked, police said. "Several of the group in the party witnessed the male being taken in the jaws of the croc for a period of time, and then he was out of sight," Senior Sergeant Geoff Bahnert was quoted as saying by the AP news agency. "The Mary River is known worldwide to have the greatest saturation of adult saltwater crocodiles in the world. You don't swim in the Mary River," he added. At least four crocodiles have been shot in the area following the incident, rangers say, including one believed to be responsible for Mr Cole's attack. Saltwater crocodiles can grow up 7m (23ft) long and weigh more than a tonne. I'd do everything I could to make the things extinct. Do they offer anything to the environment/Eco system? If not then If one human life can be saved then we should wipe them out. When I went up north for a trip with my old man, I went fishing on the edge of the waters and if you're not aware you will get attacked. At the end of the day, they need to eat and if you're making your self available for the creature then it's your own fault. About half an hour before I caught this 7kg Barramundi I saw the waters moving slightly and I was aware there was a Croc around, I backed up a moved away and the croc left. In the Southeastern US we have alligators but rarely do you hear of an attack on a human. I think it is as you said a case of heeding the posted warning signs and understanding the danger. Very interesting though!That is defiantly him, i saw the documentary on him, he use to stalk the waters in Burrandi but after a failed attempt to capture him he disappeared and hasn't been properly seen since, there has been some supposed sighting's, but no one knows for sure it was him.
