CHOULO19 24,332
BLUES HOPES OF SIGNING DE ROSSI "WAYNE"Chelsea's odds of signing unsettled Italian midfield maestro, Daniele De Rossi, have taken a huge hit yesterday after Jose Mourinho confirmed that Wayne Rooney is the Blues' only remaining transfer target this window.Rumors of Chelsea interest in the Roma FC "Engine" had peaked after his stellar performances in the Confederation Cups, fed by the fans' demands that the club signs a world-class central midfielder after our frailties in that department last season. But all that came to a sudden halt after Jose informed SkySport that it is "Rooney or bust" in the transfer market. On the Rooney front, there was a huge shock as Chelsea confirmed that the club made a bid for the "Angry and Confused" united striker. In a highly unusual step by our board, Chelsea confirmed that the club made a "monetary only" bid for Manchester's Wayne Rooney putting an end to the rumors that Mata or Luiz might be included in the transfer deal. United have maintained that the 27 year old England international is "Not For Sale", but Rooney is rumored to be pushing for a move away from Old Traford. regardless of whether or not Wayne does end up in blue shirt next season, you can't help but feel that the Special One has already made the first psychological hit and weakened one of our main title rivals for next season.Click here to view the article

calculatingInfinity 1,472
Mourinho didn't really flat out say that though. The reporter asked "Rooney or bust" and he said yes, which could easily also mean Rooney is the only forward they are bidding for, not that they aren't looking for other positions. Waterfall 893
- No need for Wallace after Maicon loan- No need for money after Marquinhos saleUnless the player himself demands a move (which won't happen), I can't see us signing De Rossi. Duppy Conqueror 1,534
I'm pretty sure like already noted,Jose was just talking about forwards. It's also worth noting Jose said 2-3 signings but we have already signed 3 and yet still we bid for Rooney. Nobody should take what managers say as something sworn under oath in court.

Strike 7,489
I really doubt Jose gave away his transfer plans in public. It's all a hoax. de Rossi must be on a plane to Roma as we speak

CHOULO19 24,332
According to Daily Star De Rossi just might be available. So, are Chelsea interested ?Roma president himself said that they might sell De Rossi so his availability was never in question. If we wanted him we would have signed him by now but I honestly think we were never really interested.

Recently, the report stated, De Rossi might be available. Simple as that.
