diskoviolente 425
Probably Oscar can play a bit deeper, but there won´t be any "new Lampard". There will be a new midfield, basicially. It makes me fucking sad to think about Lamps leaving Chelsea in the nearer future. He should be given a new contract, at least for one more year. Cripen 110
You can tell that it can be Mata, Oscar, De Bruyne etc. Mata maybe will score goals and assists, Oscar and KDB also but I dont think that in the near future anyone can replece Lampard if we talk about how many goals he scores season in season from midfield AND his love and commited to the club and his style of play. Mceachran 109
Clearly I have bias, but I think mceachran and mata will be the future backbone of this team. Mata, like many of you are already saying, on his way to being our next talisman. I honestly believe that, given the chance, Mceachran will be right behind our newest el presidente
BlueLyon 9,359
There wont be new Lampard by any meaning. There wont be new Terry, Xavi, Messi, Ronaldo, Zidane. But there will be new players who will try to achieve (and some will) the legendary status that their idols had. A 'new' Lamps could only come in Mceachran as he is english and chelsea youth academy kid (even Lamps wasnt that). He has Chelsea written all over him and with world class performances, he will go to history as big legend. Kdb, Mata, Oscar, they dont have english culture in them. They dont have that big character. Anyway from current players, Mata will take Lampards role, but he wont be new Lampard. He has leading abilities, he has passing skills. Also he has loyalty. But he will need to get older to achieve the respect like Lamps has.
