manpe 10,861
Chelsea are in negotiations to sign Cavani for £32m, Moses for £7m and Azpilicueta for £8m. (Daily Express)If this is true, then the ambition the club are showing is outstanding. I pity the parallel universe where Chelsea didn't win the Champions League. Ollie 4,400
I still have no idea who Azpilicueta is but judging by you lot, he's good but i haven't posted in his thread because quite frankly, i don't know him from Adam. Seems we're gonna get 2 more signings, unbelievable really. I've never been so excited being a Chelsea fan. This actually eclipses 2003 for me even tho that's when Roman came. Pre season has been rather shite but the actual premiership season is gonna be so different from that. A bit gutted tho that Oscar and Mata won't be available for the Community Shield. I'd love to see us give Man City a big shot up the arse and stuff them, sending out a big message to them and everyone else.
BlueLion. 21,491
The choice of words bodes quite well - 'positions'. Gourlay is quite clearly inferring we have multiple targets lined up, not just in the sense of multiple positions, but also a quota of potential signings. The fact we've done the bulk of our transfer work early (Marin, Hazard, Oscar - even de Bruyne and Cahill can be included in this) suggests that we've learned our lesson in the transfer market. The positions Gourlay is hinting at are most likely RB and a forward position. We all know this probably means Cesar Azpilicueta and Victor Moses, but I think we've still got another big signing in us this summer. If this is true, then the ambition the club are showing is outstanding. I pity the parallel universe where Chelsea didn't win the Champions League. What a frightening reality. Besides possibly Marin, who wanted to reinvent himself in a foreign league, would we have signed any of these players? Moses possibly as it is a step up from Wigan, but Oscar, Hazard, Cavani? Not a chance. We have so much to thank Drogba for.

Obviously he is an incredible forward, but I really don't think he'd suit the di Matteo tika-taka system. Part of his success at Napoli is functioning in the counter-attack they play. I think because he is physical like Drogba, people are expecting him to be a similar sort of player, but he is almost totally different. Great aerial prowess, yes, but he is a South American forward. Very much so a penalty box poacher, as opposed to the all-round beast that Didier is.

Ollie 4,400
Mata needs a rest, he went all the way in the Euro's and went to the Olympics, they still have to play another match. I'd be very surprised if he's back for August 12th.

Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
only want Cavani/Falcao if torres is given the boot. not so we can keep both. no way in hell we're keeping both of them. cavani and falcao are the drogba type strikers-hard working, strong in air, not as good but can dribble, and command many many many many games without tiring out. Torres relies on speed so he cant play 3 whole months like DDA with minimum strngth. (or atleast anymore since his injury). when you use your strength your not chasing lost cuases that much. i would LOVE, any of these strikers but not unless torres is given boot. end of... Strike 7,504
Striker order of Preference1. Edinson Cavani2. Radamel Falcao (both for less than 30m only)3. Robert Lewandowski----------------------------------------------4. Hulk 5. Andre Schurrle ( both wing and ST)---------------------------------------------6.Leandro Damiao7. Demba Ba8. Moussa Dembele----------------------------------------------9. Emmanuel Adebayor (big, strong and proven - although i probably couldn't overlook the fact that he played for Arsenal AND Spurs)10. Edin Dzeko - atleast he'll be second-choice at Chelsea. a step up I guessand yeah, Victor Moses
KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
I'd pick Dzeko really. He is perfect for what we need. I'm pretty sure he'd fancy his chances over here. Good striker with the potential to be very good/great at Chelsea.
Santiago. 1,500
Dzeko would be like playing with 10 men. Similar to Ibra at Barca
rickyp43 1
Can't believe some people want Moses so much. He's decent at best and we don't need him. We need an experienced goal scorer up top. Torres still cant be trusted, Lukaku is unproven and Studge is a liability.
