TAHITI

The following awards were given:

  • Golden Ball (best player): 22px-Flag_of_French_Polynesia.svg.png Nicolas Vallar
  • Golden Boot (top scorer): 22px-Flag_of_France.svg.png Jacques Haeko (6 Goals)
  • Golden Glove (best goalkeeper): 22px-Flag_of_France.svg.png Rocky Nyikeine
  • Fair Play Award: 22px-Flag_of_the_Solomon_Islands.svg.png Solomon Islands

All games to be played at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara, Solomon Islands.

---

New Zealand should win it pretty easy, but it would be good to see someone else win it, imagine seeing the likes of the Solomon Islands or Fiji at the Confederations Cup in 2013 up against the European Champions.

New Caledonia and Samoa should come out of Group A, while Group B is the toughest, New Zealand will make it through, but hard to pick out of Fiji and Solomon Islands going through with them.

Player to watch

11 - Roy Krishna, striker for Fiji, 24 year old was lined up to sign with PSV in 2009 but didn't sign because he didn't feel he was ready for a move to Europe yet. He has scored 14 goals from his 19 caps for Fiji.

Never even heard of it or half the countries involved. Is this a competition for the lower half of the world rankings that can't qualify for anything? A sort of Micky Mouse competition as such..... :Goober:

It's for countries in the Oceania continent....doofus. It's like the Euros except better.

Aussieland is too god for this tournament so we play in AFC.

Wasn't that 32 or 31-0 scored in this competition? Or was it WC qualifiers?

Yeah, We (Australia) beat American Samoa 31-0 in a WC qualifier in 2001.

This is the OFC Nations Cup but it also the Second round of World Cup qualifiers for the OFC Zone. The top 4 teams of this tournament go through to the third round in the OFC.

Fiji and the Solomons' have really improved. Back when we were in the OFC, whenever Australia or New Zealand showed up you could guarantee the former two would have a bollocking handed to them but that's changed a bit now.

No idea how showers of shit like Vanuatu and Samoa are rated ahead of PNG.
