Panorama: Euro 2012, Stadiums of hate.

There aren't many things that upset me... I Just watched the latest Panorama, absolutely unbelievable, you really want to genuinely cry watching some of the incidents. How Poland and Ukraine got Euro 2012, I'll never know. I highly advise you check it out on iPlayer. Sickening. I was so distraught by what I saw I actually wrote to UEFA.

To whom it may concern at UEFA,

I knew there were problems in Poland & Ukraine but living in England I barely knew how bad it was. I've just watched BBC's Panorama: Euro 2012 Stadiums of hate. I demand to know who on earth makes the decision to host a tournament in two of these "Civilizations" (If you can call them that) who act in the manner they do. I'm absolutely appalled that this decision has been made by UEFA, and no one within Poland or Ukraine seems to have done anything about it. Sol Campbell was interviewed and he has said 'Don't go or you may come back in a body bag' this should be addressed to all fans of all the participating nations from you, UEFA, it will be absolutely sickening if you do not address this issue to all the traveling fans. Please can someone write back to me about this issue as it has bought distress and worry to many people.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this,

Matthew Huggins.

I hope you all watch the episode of Panorama and write to UEFA if you can, I know it won't change much but yeah :(

i didn't want to go till i saw that program..now i want to to take a bren gun to those lil pikey c*nts.

they only lil boys who wouldn;t do jack shit if they were on their own or faced with an equally number of grown men. the police out there are cowards too.just letting it happen to those poor indian students.

atleast when it happened in the u.k in the past it involved the people who wanted to get involved.

another thing that pisses me off is why there`s neo-nazi`s in countries where the nazi`s try to liquidise the population...not only are they attacking innocent foreigners they are attacking their heritage. they should be fighting neo-nazi`s not become one.

It certainly was an odd choice, I agree. I feel like attacking Ukraine and Poland for being racist is wrong and got the feeling that England is being a bit xenophobic, especially towards Ukraine.

Then again, I've seen what goes on in stadiums and the attacks on Asians and Africans in those countries. It's shocking to say the least; sickening that it happens in 2012. Some people just don't get it.

It's a sticky situation for sure...

I'm sure its been exaggerated. You can't judge an entire nation off extremist activists. This is no different to saying all Muslims are terrorists. Neo-Nazi's in Ukraine and Poland may be far more active and larger in number than their English counterparts but they're still only a minority. And an event like this will have high security, I find it difficult to believe there'll be any trouble.

Let us not forget its barely been 30 years since a certain Paul Canoville had his goals at Stamford Bridge greeted with a chorus of "It's still 0-0, the n****r scored, it doesn't count."

oh yes i totally agree with that. that it`s not the whole countries population to blame and they are in the minority but it has to be stamped out.

my bren gun wouldn't be choppin` down every fooker i saw..just the neo-nazi`s.

The English media seem to do something similar every year about host nations of major tournaments, there was something similar for the world cup in South Africa in 2010 and more than likely there'll be similar condemning reports on Brazil, Russia, Qatar etc. I'm not saying there isn't problems in these countries but I feel it's blown out of proportion and the negatives are being accentuated by these reports.

Hahahahahaah, how about you go out and buy some fucking brain and start to think for yourself instead of talking about what you've seen in a stupid tv programme. And no, you can't call us civilzation because it would refer to a larger group of people.

I bet he wasn't even here and he talks shit. If he came back in a fucking bag it would be only because of his stupidity.

Btw. don't know if you remember but it's your national team captain who is accused of racism and as a Chelsea fan you should know how media blow things out of proportion.

To be fair there were 2000 Metalist fans Sieg Heiling

And how many Liverpool fans supporting Suarez?

And if you're wondering why there are so many nazi fans in Ukraine you should look into history books and see that in few places it was better to help nazis than to get murdered by USSR.

It wasn't just Ukraine it showed Wisla and Cracovia fans sieg heiling, making monkey noises and singing songs about Jews as well. It's definitely a problem.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the whole country is like it and I know the majority will be absolutely disgusted by this, but there is clearly something that needs dealing with.

Are you denying that there is a problem in your country?

I watched it and the last bit with the Indian fans getting battered was sickening at the Metalist stadium.

However you have to look at Ukraines history as Manuf says - they havent had the levels of immigration that the UK has had -and when immigration started in the 1950s in the UK there were similar scenes.

Poland or Ukraine could make a programme in the UK about the Olympics and show EDL and BNP nutcases

There'll be all sorts of things claimed come 2018, because England, of course, lost that bid. This Panorama documentary will look like its 100% factual compared to whatever it is the media will come up with just before the Russian World Cup.

Quite surprised at some of the responses, brushing the issue to one side :/

We have had years to adjust and be politically correct GZ -not condoning it but they are a relatively 'new' country emerging from communism and scapegoats are easy to find. As far as the Euros are concerned I really dont think there will be any problems -but fair play for writing to UEFA-interesting to see their reply
