Yea im just saying its easy to take that gamble when the kid is from Kansas or Nebraska and not one from Piraeus or Volos.

First when I say "Americans" I really mean NATO force.
Some kids from Piraeus and Volos are now sailing in Huti waters - it's what NATO orders Greek navy to do.
But re. Ukraine we are in the gamble now, it's not as if we 're not.
If you talk about Afghanistan then yeah, we 're out - we allowed the taliban to eat the Afghanis.

Great effort there, but I'd imagine the prospect of dealing with a few guys from the poorest nation on earth with a few Iranian weapons is a different prospect than sitting across a border from the second(or third) most powerful military on earth.

 

Afghanistan is a sad result, but in the end its what they want. Taliban is what they wanted over our installed government.

They won't draft me.
I 'm too old.
These days other things are threatening. Yesterday I learned one of my closest firends died from CA. He told me about it before Christmas, now he 's gone. Excellent musician, excellent athlete back in school.
But war is the mission of the military.
When I was a draftee they told me "this place is a war machine - we are destined to operate during peace time but we always have to stay a war machine".
Greeks have fought in many places, including Ukraine back in 1920 and Korea.
I cannot talk on behalf of the various political leaders, Sounak-Meloni-Shultz-Mitsotakis ... . But ultimately NATO is an integral body and they should n't have stayed out in 2022. By doing so they allowed the war to start and JFK took a different stand when it was Cuba.
About Afghanistan it's not true what you say. The Taliban were not the majority. They were armed but not the majority.
What is true about Afghanistan -according to public opinion researchers- is that both Taliban and non-Taliban were strict muslims and they did not like modernization.

My head at school was christofascist.
He even considered fizzy lemonade as sinful - for six ears we could buy only blue ones from the canteen.
