The only argument we see for that is because Palestine was never independent nation, even though both Roman scripture and biblical text recognise it as Palestine. (Canaan/Philistines). It is also ignoring the fact Palestine was under Ottoman Empire rule but started forming the idea of independence as far back as 1911. Even then, if we go back as far as history can show us, this land was still occupied by both the Philistines & Israelites. And if we go back during the Roman empire Israel was a nation. This is a never ending talk like I mentioned. More important here is people not land and a good leader would put their people ahead of the interest of others. That's why I brought the discussion with the movie Kingdom of Heaven with Orlando Bloom.

Anyway as you say it would be a long discussion. But as a Christian you must be horrified at the genocidal slaughter, burning and maiming of children and babies. Its horrendous. Of course is horrendous but the other point I brought is that there's nothing we can do to improve this. 2023 and we are still with wars, corruption. We created UN to help with this, but as of today you can't get rid of it. USA mass shooting, Latin America corruption with a lot of killings like in Mexico and what not. Wars in the middle east, eastern Europe. We resolve this issue here in Gaza but what's next? Ukraine? Mexico? Africa. This whole world is messed up. Yup its a mess, but war is very profitable, and we are conditioned to think its natural. Death=Money. American F16s are great at dropping bombs, burning the faces off kids, destroying solar panels on hospitals, schools etc. Those arms shares need big dividends Fernando
cosmicway 1,333
What would the Hamas supporters want Israel to do ? Recognize a Palestinian state ? Will that bring peace ? Pretty unlikely. A chance however exists if the Palestinians condemn the 7–10 and themselves punish some of the (remaining) perpetrators of the massacre. Israel can’t negotiate peace with murderers and nobody else in the same position. Maybe a historical precedent is the Greco-Turkish war when the Turks in 1922 murdered many Greeks but after that there was peace between Greece and Turkey that lasted till 1954 without incident. But Kemal did at least go through the motions of attributing those killlings and the burning of Smyrna to “disorderly elements who were not following his orders”. In the case of 7–10 Hamas and Hezbollah have already declared it a national day ! Edited November 7, 2023 by cosmicway
Fulham Broadway 17,335
Israel’s attempt to destroy Hamas will breed more radicalisation, UN expert says Israel’s attempt to wipe out Hamas in response to the attacks of 7 October is likely to breed only further radicalisation, besides being unlawful, the UN special rapporteur on theoccupied Palestinian territories has said. Francesca Albanese also said the international community was “reaping the whirlwind” of failing to heed the concerns of those, including herself, who had criticised Israel’s “systematic repression of Palestinian human rights”. No shit, surely if you'd seen all your family and children maimed and burned you'd warm to the occupiers that did it ?

He gained media attention for his alleged connection to the Oklahoma City Bombing. Strassmeir came from a German family known for its right-wing nationalist sympathies. He was the son of Günter Straßmeir, the Chief of Staff to German Chancellor Helmut Kohl. Strassmeir studied at a military university in Hamburg, and then went on to serve in the German Army in 1979. His military service lasted for a total of five years. The US Feds were using Strassmeir and others to indirectly control and manipulate the radical American white nationalist right wing. THe Oklahoma City bombing was a entrapment scheme that went bad. The building was loaded up with plastic explosives (grey bars that were seen by workers in the building being placed by ops who were using the cover of working on the phone lines) especially on the left side (if facing it). and the US Feds fucked up and failed to stop it. If you look at before and after pictures, it is clear that the explosive main damage came from the INSIDE and DOWN, not from the outside Ryder Truck (which did blow up too, of course but had far too little explosive mixture (simply due to the smaller size of the truck) to cause the type of damage seen) and UP. There was a large semi-cantilever concrete-roofed imbedded space in front of the building that was blasted down and out, not up and in. before after

MoroccanBlue 5,385
If you want to restore political will you need to restore accountability and trust. Israel just as much as Palestine need to attest to their record like you would have any nation do, but because Israel is an ally to the West and England this won't ever happen. Even if Hamas is obliterated tomorrow, Israel will still receive billions from the United States government along with diplomatic and military support from both the UK and US. There won't be peace.
