If I want to pay a visit to a government minister it is not impossible to gain access, but what do I carry with me ?
Six cokes and six eggs from the supermarket in Xenophon street nearby.
Now if it is Rupert Murdoch it's going to be two or three suitcases wiv green stuff.
The pattern repeats itself.
In 1989 there was the big scandal with a Greek government minister found to have received a bribe of some 50 million today's euros in a Swiss bank.
The man was put to trial but he died in the middle of the proceedings from a stroke.
We thought, well that's it, who will dare do it again ? Ok maybe for 50 thousand.
But from 1989 to this day there were about ten similar cases ...

It's like this.
You and I go to Canada to fix a corrupt arms deal.
Ten years later we have spent all our ill gotten gains in horses, women, booze.
Then I call you on the phone and this conversation takes place:

"hey mate, remember that Nancy in Canada ?"

"Nancy who ?" you say

"the blonde one at the conference with the grey mini skirt"

"oh yeah" you say

"well, the Canadians have caught her for embezzlement and they have her in the dungeons now with the cat of nine tails - she 's going to spill the beans"

You get panicky, we both pack our suitcases and are off to Brazil.
But while this happens once in a while no one gives it serious consideration, so life goes on as usual.

Yet the same happened when we had absolute monarchies - Louis XVI.
The Frenchie nobles had no problem cheating Louis XVI.
