Fernando 6,585
Sturridge (IMO always) didn't make any substantial step-up at Bolton, against popular belief Coyle didn't let him develop, he merely let him display consistently what he was already capable of on a bigger stage.Kakuta's game on the other hand is not as relied on pace and thus he cannot have the same effect Sturridge had given the same period of time (bear in mind Kakuta is 2 years younger). He has to refine his non-physical & technical skills to even think about making it at this level. On a similar yet unrelated point the improvement that the 18yo McEachran needs to be considered a reliable (=real squad member) midfielder of a PL top 10 club is significantly bigger. Why can't we have smart people like you at our board?Kostas for president! ja1 1,166
I agree, Coyle is overrated handling young players. After Wilshere and Sturridge they were heralded a 'star-making' facility but in reality Wilshere and Sturridge were already good players and would have made a good impression anywhere, the likes of Weiss and Kakuta had the talent but needed more focus, Bolton and Coyle did nothing to aid their development. Badboy 1,526
I think we could have a very good young attacking squad next season ! Sturridge age 22 KDB age 20 Kakuta age 20 Mata age 23 Lukaku age 18 Josh Mceachran age 18 then we'll probably get a Striker, midfielder and a winger in too. Obviously not all of them will start but we have some very exciting young players we have invested in, we should keep some of the older players too like Man Utd, the older players should not not start games but having them around will be a great help. I would probably get rid of Drogba though because he's such a personality and he's intimidating, the players I'm talking about are the likes of Essien, Terry, A.cole ( even though I think Cole will be rotating with Ryan/Pat next season). Peace. 4,352
I do not have the confirmation, but he seems he will start today against Ajaccio, at 19h00 in France (so 18h00 in Uk). Still don't know whether it will be behind the striker or on the wing. zolayes and LDN Blue

Clevemayer 764
two very nice scenes where you saw his sublime technique... one of them nearly led to an goal...seems to be happenin for him right now... hopefully he can keep goin like that
Clevemayer 764
dijon are pretty sloppy in posession... he has taken beautheacs place on the left side of the midfield... not behind the striker as usual
Clevemayer 764
tracks back works hard wins some one on ones does ok...
Clevemayer 764
takes a corner but the outcome isn't that well...his free kicks ar classy but its something strange with his corners... every team he plays in he is allowed to take the corner and they always seem... well... not that good
Clevemayer 764
starts the move by himself from the own corner flag... nice technique giving a pass to the forward from there whilst shielding the ball from the opponent... then popps up at the edge of the box and plays a class first touch pass... sadly the striker couldnt controll it propperly... Clevemayer 764
he looks really sharp and much much better... has a bit of his confidence back... nice and slick passing and has his pit bull mentallity back fights for every ball... not like with us where carlo asked him to keep in the background for the sake of the team... Fernando 6,585
Thanks for the link, saw the first half and was a bit scrappy, not enough to showcase Kakuta talent with the type of football his team is playing. At the end should have been 1 to 0 for Dijon, but the goalie had a great stop.Hopefully second half would be better, and Kakuta gets more chances. Clevemayer 764
yea but when kakuta was on the ball he did very well and wans't led down by his confidence like before...he had 4 very good actions on the pith imho... and they should lead... hopefully he gets more involved... but as you can see he has a great speed and is also able to play on the wings...
