DYC. 7,542
42 goals in 1 season as a winger.. I think he was close..I also find it very odd that none of you mentioned Alan Shearer. For me this guy was the best striker in England... Goes to show how long most of the people on here have been watching the EPL...He was a superb goal scorer but when looking for the best player, you look at overall ability. If not, the likes of Van Nistelrooy and Owen in his prime would deserve a mention. Or what about the likes of Vieira, Makelele, Carvalho..And it annoys me when people say '42 goals as a winger'. That's the season he became the half winger/half striker he is currently, he moved into the centre a lot and a lot of his goals came from inside the box. He only did well against the Arsenal away from home, he never scored or assisted in either Anfield or Stamford bridge in the 6 years he was in England. Ollie 4,400
Surely we can do a best player in the prem thread instead of spam this gooner cunts one.But anyway... Giggs has to be the best unfortunately. He's still good now and where Lampard is 33 and struggling, Giggs still plays like he's 28. I'm not slating Lampard, i'm just saying that Giggs is extraordinary. Lamps is in the top 5 though i'd say. Giggs n Scholes have just done it for ever though. Still remember when they fucked us 4-1 at the bridge in 95/96 and those 2 destroyed us. That was 16 fucking years ago and they are still doing it. Those 2 are the 2 greatest premiership legends even if i hate to say it.
diskoviolente 425
Way back when...Add Lamps to this add and maybe Terry and you got a fair view on the best EPL players. (don´t mind the European team´s players)
bababoom 4,478
I wouldn't say lamps is in the top five, there's been so many greats, Contona,Zola,Henry,Bergkamp,Ronaldo,Scholes and Giggs. Also Ronaldo has to be in the top 5, he just didn't score goals he had many assists, flair and skill.Maybe it's a tie between Gerrard and Lampard... To be named as the best player of the PL you have to have more than a great shooting ability, pace etc. You need to be a big time player for many, many years, one that can change and decide a game on his own, one who is clutch enough to stand the pressure and make miracles happen. CR doesn't fit into that category.Btw, did anyone mention Cantona?

Lampard is the highest scoring midfielder in PL history and 2nd in the all time assists list.If he isn't in top 5, then he should be no. 6 lol. Laylabelle 9,535
Love the player and all but not so much the impact he's had on Arsenal since being here in a short time..2 late imporant goals and all one of which kinda screwed us up but to be fair that was our fault anyho for not winning ourselves but still...
