Wilson 358
Had to post this. Excuse the source. http://m.givemefootball.com/view.aspx?edid=165011&path=/premier-league/tiago-targets-premier-league-returnSo when did Mourinho ever say selling him was a 'huge mistake' lmao. No way he said that? I mean look now, we have a world class player called Essien! Absolute legend!
LDN Blue 7,903
Thiago was a good player, kind of glad we let him go though.

Peace. 4,352
Always remember him for this... mainly for Jose' face What strikes me in this video isn't Thiago's goal, but the quality of movement on ball and off ball as well, that our players had at this time....... Joey and lamps are everywhere moving the ball fast and sharply! The thing that annoys me watching this video is that it looks so bloody easy! When they have the ball, they run into spaces to have find a good pass to pick and possibly to approach the opponent's box. When they don't have the ball, they are also running into spaces if there are some available, or are moving around to drive away themselves from the opposition players in order to be available to get the ball. They don't stand up like statues.
manpe 10,861
Always remember him for this... mainly for Jose' face I don't think Jose ever said selling him was a mistake.Essien > TiagoLooking at that video, I started thinking about the main difference of Chelsea then and Chelsea now... The speed of passing and movement, incomparable. Now we look lazy beyond words, not enough agility. And that started in 3rd Jose season imo, I remember watching the games and thinking "oh oh, we're slower than we used to be, refreshing is needed"... I'm still saying that season after season (except 2009/10, I still don't understand where that freak of a season came from).
chrismada9 1,948
Good player when he was with us.. I kind of see him fitting into a mid-table side like Everton or Villa though!
Henrique 9,133
@kezWhat was the point of selling Tiago and buying Mikel?Mikel was the first of many stupid moves of Roman's days since Mourinho.
Badboy 1,526
Watch that video Kez posted and see how quick and fluid our passing and movement was in those days and compare it to today. Those players played in triangles and Makalele hardly took 2 touches on the ball !
Kez 2,727
@kez What was the point of selling Tiago and buying Mikel? Mikel was the first of many stupid moves of Roman's days since Mourinho. Essien was signed which pushed Tiago out of the team, hence the reason he was sold, Mikel was signed the season after & was apparently an attacking midfielder, we've never actually seen why we fought Man Utd so much to sign him because he was moulded into the Makelele role, which is not the type of player he is.
