Frank Lampard

Yes, some people are overreacting a bit (though it's a very small minority), but that's how they feel. It's a touchy subject to be fair. I just don't think anyone can tell someone else how to feel is all. It's a classic heart VS head scenario and I'm afraid your head isn't going to convince their heart to see otherwise, especially at this moment. I don't really see anyone saying he isn't still a Chelsea legend anyway, though those who back Lamps seem to think they said exactly that.

The short of it is, people have different tolerance levels. Some higher, some lower. For some a living legend simply putting on another PL team colours is enough; regardless of the reasons, it's still a line that has been crossed in their eyes. He'll probably be doing exclusive interviews with them, he'll get a shirt number etc. It's all a bit too much for some, which is completely fair.

Also, for every argument for his decision there is a very simple counter-argument: It's only for fitness VS just go to Melbourne then, he won't be starting VS it's even more pointless for him to be there in that case. At the end of the day, he chose City.

I think it's very fair for people to say they're disappointed with Frank. Personally, that's how I feel.

The way I see it his quote from last year now looks like this: "I can't imagine playing for anyone else after being at Chelsea for 12 years etc. etc. I'm not sure I could have done that...but if they pay me enough, I'll be City's mascot and do the Poznan!".

Our legend is simply being used to fill a HG quota, that's it. He's being treated like their little bitch and he doesn't care as long as the price is right. I don't know about you, but I thought a lot more of Frank the person and player than that.

SPOT. ON.

Of course he has a choice. He can just say "I don't want to be loaned at all".

He's a football player who wants to stay fit, he's done way too much for us and asking him not to play at all for 6 whole months isn't what he deserves.

He's made a substantial amount not just as a football player, but as a Chelsea ambassador on par with John Terry. This is not a wage slave/real world employee situation, this is a special case; in which the current board of Chelsea are not the bottom line. Nobody forced him to sign for a City affiliated club in the first place, this loan conundrum has been created by Frank, he's not a victim of it.

Yes he created it. He hates us. Loathes us. He's at the end of the day a judas scum along with every legend that has played for us. I agree. He's not a victim for joining a team that recognized him with a proper contract.

Because he can't hire a personal trainer or stay fit by himself?

Or not sign for the City family in the first place.

This is a guy who supposedly has a high I.Q, and people suppose he was naive enough to think this wasn't inevitable.

You do realise he could have been just as easily loaned to Melbourne City?

I'm talking about match fit man. quite a large difference. it's a common misconception trust me. I've seen players stay fit with personal coaches and when they make a return to football after 8-9 months, their legs feel wobbly, they don't feel right chasing a ball and they always think thrice before making a pass. They are at the end of the day humans.

Part of Frank Lampard's 'brand' and why he's the figure he is, is because he's marketed himself as 'proper chels' like John Terry. The same reason Gerrard's face is all over the Liverpool pencil cases and bed spreads. This guy is a fraud, not just a judas.. he hasn't handled himself with class or shown respect to the fans since leaving. He told people he would never join another PL club, he stressed how difficult it would be. Whatever beef he has with the current board is not as far as Chelsea stretches, he should have thought about his legacy and the fans.

True, agreed. No class.

I would think that he chose City because he wants to stay close to his family since he is a human being with a life beyond football.

I don't like him coming to city but the reactions here are over the top, people take football way too seriously sometimes.

He doesn't live with his family, do you think Frank's ex is bringing herself and the kids to New York?

The point is, and I'm not sure why you're taking us go around in circles here, is that ALL of this was 'his' choice, it wasn't a catch 22. What the fuck did Frank think was going to happen when he signed for a City owned club that doesn't exist yet.
