Another world-class performance today, absolutely flawless, the only lock in our first 11, the shirt is his week in week out.

He was actually very poor compared to his recent games. Now the question is whether that was the result of the system or an off-day.

Considering the number of players who put in sub-par performances one might suspect it might be due to either Mourinho's changes in the team he played, or Pardew's tactics to combat them.

I don't think that theory has any substance, but you were against Jose coming back so I can understand why you'd look to besmirch him.

He did ok the problems were elsewhere ,I am sure had he playerd further forward he would have done better than Oscar and Mata who were lost ,nobody had a shot at goal it was awful .

I'll give you a hint, he's 35 and even at his peak he was never mobile, and is now being played in a role he has absolutely no business being in. The attacking players usually paper over his cracks but that didn't happen today.

I agree with the second bit that the attacking midfielders were often far too distant from the pivot and that even Rami was nowhere near his imperious best.

He could be 55 he would be more mobile than Mikel . The pivot was not to blame for that performance ,Lampard would have done much better than Oscar and Mata today further forward ,they were both abysmal .

He played well against City, but even that was a step-down on the performances he'd put in before that. Again it's very easy for some people to get a little excitable and become prisoners of the moment. It's a long season and we'll bounce back from this.

Some players had a sub-par today, but he and Oscar were just awful. Had we made the Schurrle for Lampard sub at HT and Willian for Oscar not Mata we probably would have avoided defeat.

Very glad that Jose did not bring on Mikel though despite a very poor performance today by the team , I would have taken Oscar off and put Lamps in the AM position we did not have one shot on goal from distance ,Oscar and Mata were the real culprits both were awful .

Personally I think the whole team looked like last year's team because we went with Mata and Oscar in last year's positions. Right now, Oscar simply can't be dropped because he's too important to EVERYTHING we do as a team.

But that means a complete disregard for form of an individual player. And its not like Ramires and Lampard are only central midfield option. We do have Mikel and Essien, and even some young promising players like Ake that can fit in there. If Lampard is playing shit you drop him and try something else, and this is not an isolated incident, but a few matches this season he hasn't really showed up. So try something else, surely that should be a given when managing a team that anybody can understand?

Maybe he is still our best goalscorer ,because today we were awful in front of goal ,did anybody shoot in the whole match you cant score from the pivot when you are asked to back up the play ,our front three were ineffective ,although Hazard did well . WHERE WERE THE SHOTS?
