you were born in 1991? surely not in 1931... and considering your daughter was borin 2000, I highly doubt you had her as a 9 year old :D So, what do you mean?

classic me... I mistaked Kez for BluesChick :(

btw, metal goats sounds very hardcore and rebelish to me. I suggest we form a metal band consisting of only people born in 1991 (and '31) and call it Metal Goats. We shall wear costumes made only of sheep wool.

I'll take that as a compliment!! :)

I'm much older than Kez though in fact I am old enough to be her mum ;)

Yes think you're right, although a phrase springs to mind involving ''..dogs..old...new tricks...cant teach..''

if I can change careers in my late 30's I think there is hope that we can learn new tricks or maybe "old dogs" must be older than me!

Yup agree there. have had several career changes as well -its just the spending bit that doesnt change !

Old politician here, Tony Benn said ''we should be learning all our lives'' which I agree with, after all we have the capacity.

I' ve learned to save, in fact I have yet to spend a penny of what I've earned by being a substitute (supply) teacher! Of course that may be my husband's influence on me :)

Question is why bother if we're gonna die anyway. All that knowledge will go to waste. Learn, have a career (if not be considered a parasite to the society), die. In fact, if to go deeper with this philosophy, then I do think that life is meaningless and that you start dying the moment you are born... which isn't necessarily a bad thing, not everything has to have a grand meaning, but pointless nonetheless. A smart corpse is no different from a dumb corpse.

Chinese Zodiac - Rat

Personality

Occupying the 1st and most prominent position on the Chinese Zodiac, the Rat symbolizes such character traits as wit, imagination and curiosity. Rats have keen observation skills and with those skills they’re able to deduce much about other people and other situations. Overall, Rats are full of energy, talkative and charming but they have a tendency to become aggressive.

Rats are full of good advice but they will never share their troubles with others. They are honest individuals and they enjoy living for the moment. They’re also capable of surviving any situation.

Health

Overall Rats enjoy good health. They’re very active which helps keep them in shape and able to fight off sickness. They can at times be tense, aggressive, and full of nervous energy, conditions which can lead to stress. Regular exercise designed to calm will benefit Rats.

Career

Extremely perceptive and wise, Rats can focus on the big picture. That ability along with their good judgment enables Rats to solve problems before they arise. Rats focus on titles because titles translate into status and money; two motivating forces. Rats make excellent bosses. Routine halts their creativity so Rats need flexible positions that allow creativity. Good career choices include: administrator, director, manager, entrepreneur, broadcaster, writer, musician, stand-up comedian, politician, lawyer, researcher, and race car driver.

Relationships

Rats are very charming. They enjoy social activities and because they’re out a lot, they’re always meeting new people. They aren’t good at breaking off relationships however, and this presents problems going forward with new relationships. Anyone hoping to partner with a Rat must be able to keep up with the Rat’s active nature.

Also, I'm fire rat.

Fire Rats enjoy being spontaneous. They enjoy traveling and taking on new tasks and will take on practically any new project or adventure simply to avoid any sense of routine and monotony. They’re zestful, spirited, and giving individuals who are well-liked by others.

Blimey I dont know whether to laugh or cry. I dont agree life is meaningless though, unless you're an Arsenal fan.

Its true you see some people that are thick as double pigshit, yet seem quite content and happy in a 'special needs' kinda way.

Its also true you can have a load of money and lose it but peopel cant take your knowledge away

And in the end none of it really matters. I can't wait for this circus to be over.

And yes knowledge can be taken away. They can do a lobotomy, fill you with mind-numbing drugs or beat you till brain damage and you're nothing but a vegetable.
