It'll be an age old argument that will never cease.

Comparing notebooks, they are made to last, and they do last a lot longer than Windows laptops. Just the limitations they have on what you can do i.e upgrading components, software (to a lesser extent now).

Macs are great to use though, and if I could afford one I'd get one.

But my windows lap top I have atm is great, bought it for 1,300NZD and it plays all the latest games.

Is your gaming PC boss?

  • 2 months later...

I normally build my own coms but have been using an acer aspire ??? and it is a heap of shit with continual overheating out here in thailand.

specs are ok

500gig HDD

4gig RAM

i5

nvidia geoforce 310m

couple to 3 years old but runs ok using linux but overheats using anything unless i run a big fan pointed directly at the com.

not into gaming don't see the point of paying for windows or mac os nowadays when linux is right up there and 100% free as are all the progs

Intel® Core™ i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz

16 GB RAM

3GB nVidia GeForce 545

Can't even run Mass Effect 3.

Runs Battlefield 3 on medium-high, The Witcher 2 on high, Mass Effect 2 on max...I'm going to go cry now. WHAT THE HELL MAKES ME3 SO SPECIAL?

@, What are you whining about? My laptop has a heating problem, can't even run FIFA 12

My Dell struggles even if I play FM on it. The fan is pretty ordinary, the computer gets so hot even if I run too many applications at the same time! :(

For gaming purposes I usually use my desktop. It's hardly a gaming PC but I'm not afraid of its fan exploding if I work it hard
