Wilson 358
Anyone have it? I do and it is the most annoying thing ever. It all started at a night club a few months ago just because of loud music. My doctor said it should go away, but it hasn't. There is no cure for the constant ringing in my and millions of people's ears. I can hear it in both but my left is the most noticeably worst. There is treatment but as I say, it doesn't always work and its temporary. Tinnitus is the worst thing that's happened to me, so just please take my advice - Always protect your ears! From turning your iPods down a bit more and when you go to concerts etc. All I can do along with millions of others who suffer from the harsh and extremely irritating ringing in their ears (sometimes in their heads, because when I close my ears I can still hear it) is hope for a cure. Spike 12,049
I always get Tinnitus mixed up with Tinnea. Couldn't say which is worse though.
HRiver 1,512
I have it, and I agree, it's extremely annoying. Especially if you're alone in a quiet place.I was told to consume Bilobil (a Ginkgo biloba medication) which is also used for memory loss, Pentoxifylline and vitamin B, but no effect. Doctor advised me to consume them for 4 weeks, I did for 5, yet no result. It sucks, and I've had it for four years. I think I'm used to it now. I can only hear the noise if I'm in a very quiet place though, or if I think about it. If I don't, I don't hear it. Are you serious that there is no cure? What about operation? Wilson 358
Yeah there's no cure, sucks I know. However I read that Scientists and Medical Specialists are working constantly to find a cure. There is only treatment. I have heard about herbals, White noise and pink noise. The best treatment is by training your mind to ignore it, which I am working hard at doing now. Not succeeding so far bur I know I can do it and it will help me a bit more, just got to try and be patient lol. I will post a few helpful websites later when I get the chance when I'm at home. Duppy Conqueror 1,543
try doing stuff like having a radio play at a low volume in the background or relaxing music to drift off to sleep too..most people who have it only get it during times of otherwise silence. hope you find a way of it not being such a problem in your life...i don`t know what the latest opinion on it is by medical peeps but the last i heard it`s classed as a mental illness rather than a problem with your ears. if you want to have lots of friends tho i wouldn`t tell too many folks that...although mental illnesses have been around for centuries the ignorance around it is akin to that which folks with H.I.V had in the 80`s some folks think they can catch it off you just by talking to you. for me personally i am open about my own mental illnesses but i aint bothered about making friends or not,i have enough of them that have stood by me for decades...i`m just open to hopefully make a few people less ignorant. bigbluewillie 1,930
i've had tinnitus for about 30 years it started through drug abuse, I had test back then but there was nothing avaliable to correct the problem, as we know the fine hairs in the inner ear have been damaged and cant be repaired.I did read on the web some years ago that siemans had developed a small device that fitted behind the ear or ears and counteracted the tone and so was supposed to eliminate the noise (mines screaming atm as i type) anyways this might just be worth a checking up on because they might just have made in roads in to solveing the problemRegards: JBD
HRiver 1,512
30 years.. that's horrible. Mine started in 2007 (exactly 4 years ago) because of a throat - nose infection. My left ear got blocked first, then this irritating noise began. It really sucks that there's no cure for this.
