BlueLyon 9,359
If we had bought new CM, i would understand this, but in the position we are now at cm, this would be ridiculous. Its not possible to get a midfielder from turkish league now, right? we can only sell, but not buy.Selling him would be just shit. He was better than Lamps realy. But i would love to see Romeu play games regulary like under Avb. Or he will go to barca. Keep meireles until winter, then sell him to turkey if you must, but bring someone new in too
Justin_3d 1,140
Looks like our midfield options are going to be Mikel, Lampard, Romeu, Oscar and RamiresVery good for me.Mikel and Romeu the true DM.Lampard and Oscar to interchange. And Ramires the one that can play anywhere depending on the needs.Let's not forget Malouda, and recently Bertrand that can also play in the mid.So for me, no reason of concern. xPetrCechx 13,570
This position is weak at chelsea... and with all this problem, they make it even worse now?!!!

Jase 43,479
Not to mention we can always recall Essien from loan. Same with Josh. So relax guys. Not sure if that's the case with both of them. If we can just recall Essien anytime on loan, then I doubt Mourinho will even bother getting him on loan.

KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
We are completely covered in terms of numbers in the double pivots. Yes, there is a lack of world class quality there but really, was Meireles really even that good apart from a few good performances?Players who can play in the Pivots:Romeu, Ramires, Mikel, Lampard, Oscar, Luiz, Essien (recalled), Josh (recalled). That's 8 players. Of course not all of those are perfectly suited to play there but they are there if we need them for a few games or so.Not sure if that's the case with both of them. If we can just recall Essien anytime on loan, then I doubt Mourinho will even bother getting him on loan. This is the condition of a loan. Any loaned player can be recalled by paying a fee. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
Meireles is better than all of them in his position You are completely and utterly overrating Meireles. A player, until some recent decent performances, we have criticised heavily.

Rowan_Osborn 58
Funny how a player can go from a player that people slated when he was on the team sheet, with many calling for AVB to go because he kept playing him, to our best midfielder who we are lost without. Seriously people he isn't that good and we have got enough cover.
Duppy Conqueror 1,534
as i`ve said before the season started. i believe that 4-3-3 is the formation that we will end up playing more often than 4-2-3-1.our squad was more suited to play that formation earlier and it`s even more so now.why are some folks so stuck on us playing the double pivot ?in american football they have certain coaches that only play certain systems and players who can`t fit into that are got rid of.but English/Global football is not like that..good coaches adapt their tactics and formation to what the team strengths are. Kojo 4,676
Mikel is doing just fine, what is wrong with you people?Watch that 4-1 defeat again, anyone who says Mikel is doing fine really needs to get there eyes testing or there just in denial. It's like saying Torres has scored a lot of goals for us which pays back our 50 million. We have serious problems in the midfield, and it's a shame we are letting Meireles go. bluesman2610 1,417
the best game we played so far this season was the 2-0 win over newcastle with a middle three of bertrand-mikel-meireles... did anyone else not notice this... We were playing 4-2-3-1 so how is it possible to have a midfield three of Bertrand-Mikel-Meireles?
