In order for a player to even get to the medical, transfer agreement and employment contract will have already been signed by all parties.

Player contracts not allowed to be "subject to medical," but transfers can be. If issue during medical, buying club wd be the one cancelling

Think, at best, it would be a 'limited' medical exam.

 

Reading what Jake Cohen is saying on twitter regarding how and when medicals happens in regards to contracts, I think that the "mid-medical" part of the story is being thrown in there because it gets clicks. Think it's highly unlikely, to say the least.
