ulsterchelsea 3,221
Because neither club has confirmed anything. doesn't make a difference, they were running the lass to spuds story and the nasri story before either club confirmed anything. What's different
BlueLion. 21,491
These puns are fucking awful! Chuffed to be signing a winger. Not a wide midfielder like Malouda, a genuine winger in the mould of Robben. Lovely stuff.

In fact he's a lot closer to a Malouda than he is to a Robben in terms of style. He is a number 10 that can operate out on the left. He's smart, technical and has good passing ability. What he doesn't have is the sheer pace of Robben that takes him past players.Mata will be excellent at finding space in tight areas, recieving the ball and moving it forward. That's exactly what we need so I'm all for this transfer.

Even when he had to play as a attacking midfielder, he keeps drifting to the side.Edit: Now I understand, you've been watching videos of his last season. That's not the role he's playing regularly in the past years though. But you are right about him not being a pure winger, he's more of a left-attacker (like Cristiano, 'old Messi', only Messi played on the right and comparable to Malouda in 09/10). What I meant is that his skill-set is very similar to that of a number 10.I've seen him play many games, I just posted the video for those who haven't watched him regularly. I find his passing too raw to be a 10 though. He can spot the pass but his passing isn't all that accurate and inconsistent. But he's young so he can improve if he works hard. We'll forgive him for being a bit hit and miss with his passing. I'd rather a player who sees the pass and can sometimes make it as opposed to a Kalou who can barely control the ball let alone see a pass. Not to bothered about his "natural" position but if he adds abit of flair and unpredictability to our play then thats good enough for me.He will and thank god for that! He is the best player from the 3rd best team in Spain. That tells you he is a very good and at only 23 he will get even better.

chrismada9 1,948
I think this is an excellent signing, if Balague's tweet is indeed true!! I honestly thought he was going to join Liverpool at first, but I'm delighted that he's chosen us!! Hopefully, that should be our winger sorted!!All we need is Modric now!
